Kennedy Walking Track

This is a brilliant walk. About 8km return, and while it is a bit tricky at high tide, it is otherwise a moderate to easy walk. The best bit is the scenery, the fauna and the flora. We were lucky enough to have a very close encounter with a cassowary and chick who were very inquisitive and came right towards us. We also saw turtles, many bird varieties, a lace monitor, native orchids...the list goes on!

Fantastic out and back beach walk with some shaded trees sections where you can see lots of turtles in the water. There are a couple of places to stop with a bench. We took advantage at one of these for our lunch. It was fine in sandals.

Kennedy Walk, very tranquil, we got married there in May 2024, gorgeous backdrop of Dunk island and tropical forest.
Due to it being our wedding we only walked to the large wooden platform, great for picnics or just sitting and reading a book. Table and chairs to sit on or bring your own and enjoy the gorgeous view.

A beautiful walk starting at the boat ramp and heading along a boardwalk for 500 m and then up and over some stairs and through the forest to bypass a rocky outcrop so you can get back onto the beach for a 1 km journey towards Tam O’Shanter Point headland and 500m to Morgan’s lookout.

Well maintained walking track with a boardwalk to begin with before moving into a dirt trail. Lots of small lookouts and stopping places to make it easy to turn around if you get tired. Dog friendly with great views along the whole way.

Excellent walking track with lots of variety. Tropical forest, steep cliffs, long secluded beaches, astonishing views to the family Islands. A lot of nature is to be explored. Kangaroo's, Echidna, Birds and even Cassowaries. Since it is a one way track, I recommend to turn to hinterland, mid Kennedy Beach and go back this way. Astonishing views of green grass lands are to be explored. Recommended!

This walk is a must when visiting Mission Beach. Easy trail with some steps. Takes you to stunning scenery in and out of the rainforest, onto beaches, lookouts and over a creek. Watch out for high tide as you’ll end up scrambling rocks. Make sure you time your return for around sunset for the best palm fronded views of Dunk Island.

Great track with lovely views. The first bit (300m each way) to Lover's Beach is wheelchair accessible. Few good lookout spots along the way.

A beautiful walk in paradise. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beauty of FNQ. Easy walk, go as far as you like and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Rainforest, crystal blue water, golden sand.

Great track to take new visitors to. You're likely to see a baby cassowary with its mother about 85% of the time. Picturesque on a clear day or during a storm. The board walk track is good quality.

Beautiful Peaceful, Tranquil, Relaxing, Enjoyable, Calming, Serenity... It's a all round perfect place to visit especially if you're a person who does not like screaming, crying, loud kid's. Best relaxing walking track I've been to in year's.

Very beautiful coastal track starting out from the southern end of south mission beach at the boat ramp, a serious is stairs, walking platforms and sand stretching over about 8kms return journey, not a difficult track and you can always turn back if you don’t want to do the whole length, there are a couple of nice lookouts along the way

Beautiful walk. We did it in the afternoon, so lots of shade. Variety of different experiences tracks- board walk, beach, bush and cement paths over rocks. Highly recommend. Easy to moderate.

Beautiful beach, nice boardwalk right along the beach. We saw turtles too, we only walked to lovers beach but I’m sure it’s beautiful at the others too!
