Only stopped for a quick break, but I can see why people stay. It's quite and the tree cover keeps it really cool

One of my favorite campsites in Tas. Never cramped, usually find a good shady spot here even over Christmas.

Lovely campsite. The camp kitchen was just what we needed on a windy and rainy night. Everything was well maintained and clean. There are large grassy spots for caravans as well as lots of space under trees. Fresh water, showers ($1 for 5 mins), play equipment for kids. I'd rate it as the best campsite we went to in Tasmania!

The Volunteers do are great job, off their own back to provide for visitors and also may I add, the local community. Pioneer Park is a beautiful place. Thank you Riana.

We enjoyed our first time at Pioneer Park. Great location in a wonderful part of Tassie that I am keen to further explore. Friendly volunteers. Very wet ground - not sure if it was just because of a lot of recent rain - but next time will be better prepared with a tarp. We'll be back!

Excellent place! With all the comforts, from showers with hot water to comfortable spaces for cooking, kettle, toaster, microwave. the only bad thing is that you don't have a signal or wifi.

Awesome spot for a night or 2 to recharge. Good clean kitchen, toilets and hot shower for $1.
$10 per night $2 more for extra person. Not much to do though.

Extremely sweet people volunteer their time to maintain what is an excellent site, $10 per night, $1 per 5 minutes showers, kids play stuff, fairly new kitchen with 2 sets of gas cook tops, kettle and toaster, an electric BBQ in another covered area as well as several other covered areas with seating and tables in a wonderful rural setting

About Gunns Plains
Town in Tasmania, Australia

Gunns Plains is a small town located 20 km south of Ulverstone on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. The valley has a population of approximately 171. The Leven River winds slowly through its pastures that support a variety of grazing stock. Agricultural endeavours are also very successful, benefiting from rich red volcanic soil. The town was named after botanist Ronald Campbell Gunn, who discovered the valley in 1860. The community was involved in a significant number of men going to the First World War. The valley had one vineyard that produced Pinot and Chardonnay. It closed due to financial struggles. source
