I received outstanding service from a girl at the checkouts today. I have forgotten her name, but I know that it was her first day. She has a warm and lovely nature and it was refreshing to receive such a friendly experience at the checkouts. The produce was great as always.

As good as it gets for fruit and vegetables plus other products, clean tidy store, prices are reasonable though not cheap but the products are good quality and fresh

Tony and marks- you used to be the best! I have been a customer for over a decade. So I was disappointed today to be charged $2 for a piece of ribbon for the flowers I bought, and to be told that carrot tips and beetroot tips were not allowed to be given to customers any more. I guess that’s the business reality now but I miss the family feel of the shop. 😥

Sadly, the customer service @ this shop depends on the individua staff, no standard, procedures or clear policy across the staff.

The incident:
I bought Pomelo which was covered on 1 side by carton plate and the other side by cling. When I reached home and open it I found the pomelo side which is not visible (covered by carton) has big mold with deep hole reaching the flesh "It is spoiled".

I returned to the shop couple of days later and showed them pics and explained how the spoiled side was covered. The staff member ask to show the receipt and bring the fruit back. I said. I didn't keep a receipt of 2$ AUD, but I can tell you the time + date of the purchase + I have (and showed) the bank transaction.

The answer was sorry without showing me the receipt, nothing can be done

I expressed my disappointment from the customer service and the not ethical packing of fruits by hiding the damaged part.

For the record: in previous time the same shop. A staff member offered to return a product by finding receipt using bank transaction record

I had a frustrating experience at the store on September 24th. I was waiting in one of the two checkout queues when I noticed two ladies in the other queue. I asked if they wanted to move ahead of me, but they declined. The staff at their queue also reminded them to stick to one queue since there were two checkout stations open.

However, when it was my turn to check out, the staff at my queue insisted that the two ladies go first, effectively cutting in front of me. I felt uncomfortable but decided to let them go ahead and pay after them.

During my checkout, the staff asked if I needed a bag, and I replied with a simple "no." Surprisingly, she told me I should say "no, thank you" and requested that I speak in that manner. I found this response offensive and was left speechless.

The overall customer service I received did not deserve my gratitude, and I don't understand why the staff treated me this way. I won't be returning to this store, and I wouldn't recommend it to others. Unfortunately, I can't give it a zero-star rating.

Tony & Marks Burnside lost a long time customer today. I attempted to return and replace a wedge of speciality cheese I bought about 4 weeks ago. The cheese had gone moldy in the unopened packaging a good two weeks before its used by date. I no longer had the receipt. The manager told me I needed to have phoned them the moment I noticed the cheese was moldy and said there was nothing he could do. There were many options but he chose to treat me like I was lying or in some way caused the cheese to be moldy leaving me $20 out of pocket.
