I received a recommendation for Kane's services from a fellow forum member regarding air-cooled Porsche MFI vehicles.

They had previously used the services of his father, Phil, whom I've heard very positive reviews about. Therefore, I decided to book my MFI Carrera for some restorative work on the MFI pump in 2021.

However, I was extremely disappointed with both the quality of work and transparency in invoicing.

While I am accustomed to significant repair bills and have had other brands of cars restored for substantial sums, Kane's service fell far short of expectations.

First, the workmanship was substandard, with leaks present from the MFI pump and additional damage to the vehicle's paintwork.

Second, the calibration was performed incorrectly, as confirmed by another repairer, resulting in the vehicle running excessively rich, which could have caused fuel to wash into the cylinders and crankcase.

Third, I received no calls with any estimate of costs.

Fourth, the invoice I received lacked any breakdown of costs or part numbers, providing only a large total and an approximate number of hours spent. While I would accept such a billing format if the work performed was of reasonable quality, unfortunately, this was not the case.

Therefore, I would caution anyone considering Zuffenhaus Classics for work on their air-cooled Porsches to seek alternative options. It was exceedingly and outrageously poor value for money.
