Great Boxing Gym! Friendly supportive atmosphere, open to all ages, skill/fitness levels. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to try a combat sport in a friendly environment. Fair warning, you will be doing lots of skipping.

I can’t recommend Flames Fitness more highly! After leading a sedentary lifestyle for almost 20 years, eating too much, exercising too little, dealing with several health conditions and turning 50, it was more than time I made a change. In February 2019, I followed the example of a friend who had already made an amazing transformation at this gym. I am so thankful that I did choose Flames as the decision has truly turned my life around.

I had a membership at another gym a couple of years ago and went a handful of times. I didn’t have the benefit of a personal trainer, I hadn’t set foot in a gym for 15-plus years and I felt like ‘a fish out of water’. I didn’t have the motivation or guidance I required to make changes and I wasted money. At Flames Fitness, my experience has been exactly what I needed. The trainers are fantastic and make this gym a cut above. They know how to get the best out of the clients who need that extra motivation to push themselves within safe limits. They immediately know your name and make you feel welcome. They are very encouraging, positive, friendly and supportive and really know their stuff. It’s a great atmosphere and you do not feel like a number! I am so grateful that I have had the guidance of knowledgeable, professional staff who ensure you are using the correct technique and gently redirect you should you be taking it too easy or thinking of giving up too soon! You are kept on track with friendly phone calls if you are late for a gym session – something that really keeps you accountable!

Fitness programs are tailored to suit individual needs and capabilities, taking into consideration any limitations or constraints. I needed to start from base level, having arthritis and fibromyalgia, and the trainers were very careful to make sure I didn’t do anything to injure myself. They made the program challenging with plenty of variety in the types of exercises to maintain my interest for the duration. The trainers are always assessing your current level and helping you to build your strength and endurance gradually. Programs are flexible and regularly reviewed and changed up to ensure you keep challenging yourself and reaching your goals. They include strength and cardio training and target different areas like back, chest and legs, on different days to allow recovery. You get a check-up halfway through a program to see how you’re tracking and then one at the end. Very thorough!

It has been so rewarding to set and meet targets towards regaining health and vitality when, a few months ago, I couldn’t picture myself ever getting out of the rut I had been in for years. Not only have I lost weight, gained muscle and strength, improved my energy levels and feel much happier in myself, I am no longer showing signs of insulin resistance and have less pain! I plan to keep this focus on health and well-being into the future and using this gym is what I personally needed. I am so pleased that I found Flames Fitness to begin changing my life for the better. It’s a huge ‘thank you’ to the trainers! You have made all the difference and I only wish I’d found you sooner!

Love this place! Been coming here for over 10 years and enjoy the personal training aspect of the gym as well as the people . It is flexible enough to enable me to fit it in consistently with my weekly routine. The regular assessments and program changes keep it interesting and challenging.

I have been going on and off for almost 20 years; combinin gym work and other outdoor activities. The staff are engaging, educated in their field and willing to customise the program (each day if required) to keep you motivated and so that you achieve the results you desire. I have tried other gyms and there is no other gym that offers this. It is more than just a gym it is personalised training at the fraction of the cost.

I have made the journey back to Flames after many years of inactivity.After a heart scare(an operation for a stent) I needed to get back in shape. Flames have great programmes for rehabilitation and were recommended by my Cardiologist. I am back on track thanks to the highly motivated and professional and happy trainers.I wear a heart rate monitor linked to the gyms monitoring system which enables me to safely push myself. I recommend Flames for everyone especially those with medical conditions.
