Monastery Coffee

I went in today on a whim to give my local roasters a shot and I was beyond impressed. Tim’s customer service, help and knowledge was absolutely amazing. The team def have a passion and love for what they do and it showed.
Their coffee beans across the board were exceptional and I can’t recommend highly enough to head into their roastery to give them a try as you will not be disappointed. I definitely will be a repeat customer especially as it’s now also my daughter favourite decaf.

I purchased my first bag during my trip to Adelaide in December; now, I buy all my beans from Monastery coffee delivered to Sydney.

I researched the best coffee roasters in Adelaide to buy my dose of specialty beans for my morning pour-overs while travelling; since I can’t stand bad coffee. I opted for Monastery, and from day one, I’ve been blown away by their boutique and responsive service, beautiful roast and a great selection of coffees. Their packaging is also recyclable, which to me is a great plus.

As soon as I figure out that all domestic orders over $45 are free shipping, I kept buying from them delivered to Sydney. I haven’t found a roaster like this before. You can tell they are very passionate about their coffee and their customers in a very unique way. Wherever you are in Australia, I think it is highly recommended.

Excellent beans and customer service. Their current "Aroresa" offering is one of the best washed Ethiopian beans I've ever tasted (brewed as espresso). A huge props to the roasting team. Loved it so much that I bought a kilo of it not long after.

I'd experienced a couple of hiccups with the delivery service that Monastery use, which caused some delays in receiving the beans - timeliness which is crucial to the freshness and longevity of use of a bag. However, Adam from the team was very quick and responsive - showing accountability and also offering to go above and beyond what is expected - even though the delivery issue was not in their control.

The boxes come with thoughtful, hand-written well-wishes from the team and a small sample of jellybeans! The product and my experience to date, whilst getting off to a rocky start, has made me a big fan of Monastery. Would buy again.

I've had such a great experience ordering online from these folks. Their medium roast seasonal espresso blend is to die for and they add cute personal touches like handwritten notes and lollies to each order. Have ordered 3kg so far and each batch has been consistent - can see myself being a long time customer.

Easily one of if not the best roaster I've come across in Australia, it can also easily be held up against specialty coffees internationally.
Literally the flavour on the packet actually comes out clearly in your coffee. Further this it is not just one coffee that is roasted well or is a one off wonder like most other roasters I've encountered.

Also light roast actually means light roast here not "we do light roasts" and you open the bag and everything is medium to dark.

These coffees are so easy to dial in as well plus the better the grinder you have the more flavour you get, I'm surprised every time I go finer on my current coffee somehow I am drinking strawberries, getting a bit of toast with a hazelnut linger.

I'm a couple months in to a subscription and it's honestly the best coffee decision I've made. The quality, and the diversity, of great coffee coming from this one roaster is excellent. Warm fuzzy feeling knowing that the coffee comes from responsible and well paid farmers, and that it's packaged and transported by Monastery in an environmentally conscious way. Customer support is switched on, personable and helpful. Also, I'm a big fan of the jelly beans.

Honestly thought I left a review ages ago but here we are!

Been a consistent subscriber for 4(?) years now and will not look elsewhere. I get their light single origins for a daily batch brew, which are always fresh and consistent in their quality. You will struggle to find better.

One of the few coffee roasters I buy from regularly in Australia. If you like truly light roasted coffee, Monastery is your jam!

Bought based on the advertising that it's a great option for home machines with more flavour and better crema. Neither of those were true. The range had the worst crema I've had and very little flavour - I don't know if they were old or stale, but I ended up ditching them. Heaps better options out there.
