I walked in around 20 minutes before closing time, where I was told by Debbie that they were about to close. I explained that I was there for a click n collect, and had come to them first to ensure it wasn’t last minute. She was very abrupt in telling me they had nothing for me and they were about to close. I am a regular customer as we have a business that requires alcohol. I felt very unwelcome and will consider where I send my business in the future.
The younger girl with the long blonde hair is beyond rude. Every time we enter, she is a fly, ignores our friendly ‘hello’s’ and turns her nose up when my 2yo says hello, every time.
The men who work there are very friendly, professional and a credit to the company.

Today I purchased some items from Coles while my best friend bought 4 Jack Daniels.
We then went to visit friends and had 1 can each.
On our return to the store , on our way back home, I ran to the ladies and asked my friend to choose a nice bottle of wine to have with dinner later (he has experience working at cellar door and always makes a nice selection).
When I returned from the lavatory my friend was upset. I asked him why.
He explained that the staff member, Debbie, was rude and had assumed (he was in a wheelchair & has his feet tied in with a make shift foot rope) that he was purchasing for himself rather than for me.
As soon as he entered the store Debbie had said that he couldn’t purchase more since he’d already bought a 4 pack previously.
Gary assured her that he was buying a bottle of wine for a friend (me). She then asked him (rudely) “what are you after“ he replied “Sauvignon Blanc”.
Debbie shortly stated “they’re over there” & when he made his selection she scanned the bottle and processed the payment without offering a bag.
When I heard what had happened I went in to get her name for this review and told her it’s not ok to treat my friend rudely just because he is in a wheelchair and that he is, in fact a moderate drinker.
I’m aware of RSA policy and that while it is acceptable to refuse service this must be done in a respectful manner.
Debbie proceeded with the purchase but in degrading manner.
My friend was humiliated and shocked and I am absolutely appalled by the discriminatory behaviour demonstrated by Debbie (on behalf of liquor land).
My friend was treated like a drunk purely on an an assumption that I believe was amplified by his appearance as a paraplegic. I’ve purchase alcohol here twice in one day on several occasions and have never been spoken to rudely before today. When I confronted Debbie she met me with contempt.I discovered later that the other staff member I spoke with had just arrived shortly after the incident & so it is fair that he did not engage with the communication. I let Debbie know of my intention to review this disgraceful demonstration of “customer service. She loudly voiced as I left “I’ll look forward to that”!

The staff are quite rude and lack the knowledge on the products in which they are attempting to sell.
