Art Shed

Haven't got a clue about art supplies but I was looking to pick up a package of oil painting supplies for my partner as a surprise. I put together a rough idea of what I was after and emailed my shopping cart to the Art Shed team. Sarah from their customer service team got back to me right away with a list of suggestions, going as far as to answer questions I hadn't even thought about! Ordering was quick and easy, and the package was sent out right away, arriving on my side of town shortly thereafter. Really positive experience with these guys, and Sarah did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend!

Okay number one reason I LOOOOOOOOOVE The Art Shed in Moorabin....
(well besides the talented and friendliest art staff in the world), because drum roll please.......after months and months of searching for colored pencils storage drawers I FINALLY found out some pencil artists just use Pastel Box Drawers. Unfortunately for me who has tonnnnnes of colored pencils, I couldn't afford 5 boxes of Pastel Drawers at $200-$300 EACH!!! I needed 5 Sets of drawers, now do the maths, that would have cost me $1000-$1500...
Sooooooooooooooo I headed down to Morrabbin and I bought 5 Sets of Drawers as pictured above and it cost me $210 at the Art Shed. I took out the dividers in the first 2 drawers as pictured above cut up a bit of non slip mat and now you have it, the perfect colored pencil artist storage drawers.
Annnnddddd if that's not enough, the drawers come out completely so you can have the tray of pencils in front of you while you work on your art then slide it back home when you're done.
I can't thank you guys enough. This has been a huge headache for me to find this system and when I did and found out how much it would cost me I just couldnt see it ever happenning.
It's lucky for you guys I live in Doncaster because if I was closer I may never leave the store at all. My husband cringes every time I say Im off to the Art Shed, there goes all our money ha ha ha.
Thanks guys, its sooo awesome to have somewhere to go to buy the supplies you need at affordable prices and by real people. So many art shops staff don't even look like they want to speak to you let alone give some help or advice.
As artists we judge ourselves the harshest of all, so we really don't need to get it when we are shopping for art supplies.
Worst thing about the Art Shed, yes there is ONE BAD THING.....they close the store at the end of everyday, can you believe that. like who wants to NOT be buying art supplies 24/7, ha ha ha.
Oh and by the way, I am NOT empolyed by The Art Shed at all, seriously, I'm not!!! (although I definately wouldn't knock back a job offer)....just so you don't think this is a commercial for one of the store products!!! LOL
As a colored pencil artist I was soooo frustrated with the lack of decent colored pencil storage and protection, I wanted to share my story with any others colored pencil artists who have the same issues. Thanks again Art Shed, you guys rock AGAIN!!!!
Oh and PPS - just so you know my husband has BANDED me from coming anywhere near the entire Moorabbin area without tight supervision ( I'll be sneding my Mum down on my behalf next week!!!!LOL)
