An invaluable resource for the Canberra community. You can find some real treasures here. There are many affordable items of furniture, glassware, cooking utensils, and much more. Also honestly this place treats everyone who enters with dignity and respect, which is more than can be said about some other thrift stores.

If you can, then shop here, and donate where possible. This place is just awesome <3

Best thrift store ever. It has everything and the prices are insanely reasonable. I wish more councils and cities did this.

Fabulous range of goods that otherwise would have ended in landfill. I had a great hour, spent $5, got a selection of garden items and will visit the Hume shed tomorrow .
Helpful and friendly man on the front register. Thank you

Best place to look for second hand goods. Depending on the season, you can even get a decent quality of things with cheap price. There are a section in front of the store where you can get or drop free clothes. It is really helpful for anyone that needs an extra clothes, i.e. on the winter.

Great place to find used items, but you have to search carefully because sometimes the treasure is hiding behind the others. I got some beautiful furnitures here, as well as some cuttleries which still in good condition. The price is nice, and affordable.

So sad to hear the contract wasn’t renewed, Canberra won’t be the same without TGS :( thanks for all you’ve done over the years

LOVE, The Green Shed anyone who has anything nasty to say about the man behind the counter needs to get a grip. Everyone there works so hard I have seen so many rude customers and the staff always handle it with patience and grace. Keep up the work everyone

Heaven on recycled earth. Treasures found and joy unearthed over and over again here. Thanks Jim for helping me put the entertainment unit in the back of my car - turned out to be perfect. Best times to visit are early in the morning and in the late afternoon. Sad that some people take advantage of the freebies in the skips outside with ownership claimed on dangerous piles heaped along the footpath. But having said that, always worth a visit. Highly recommended :)

Always find something useful, that can be utilised upcycled or repaired.
This lazy Susan just needs a sand and some decking oil.

This is where I started my collecting journey, I collected many VHS's from this place, and dvds as well, and also there’s loads of other great stuff there as well, if you have some spare time, take a trip to the green shed, it’s lots of fun.

simply brilliant.
I often visit after dropping a trailer load of rubbish. I've bought home, bikes for the kids and exercise equipment.
often the items they have are simple unwanted and perfectly fine. (safety check them of course - common sense)
The prices are amazing also - and the money goes to charity so that win win

The best fun I’ve had in 2hrs and only spending $30 on over 125 individual pieces of ceramic crockery most of antique & rare designs which was surprising, glass coloured sheets, bulk jewellery for repurposing and even some brand new stationery. I will be back next week for more treasure hunting only this time I will start outside first! And come in flat shoes lol ❤❤

Who doesn't like the green shed? It's great to look through and see everything they gather. I've bought some excellent items from them over the years and they've become my first stop when we need new furniture, bikes, dinnerware.

Drop your cardboard off in the skips to your left before you reach the drive thru. Only downside is that if you give 80% of your stuff to greenshed and recycling, the wombat council workers won't give you a small load fee at the transfer depot. They basically charge you extra for doing the right thing. Silly local govt small picture thinking!

Green Shed is a brilliant. Great place to get things (so many things) you never knew you wanted as well as stuff you're actively seeking. Its well organised and inexpensive.
Its also somewhere to leave pre-loved stuff that you no longer need...treasure for somebody else.
They'll also take your old car oil, old batteries, wood, steel, cardboard etc for recycling. Kids love the place
