Ly’s Milk Bar

Back in the day this Milk Bar rented Videos out to its customers too! Classic suburban Milk Bar that was always on hand if you needed a last minute supply. There used to be a real phone box out front too... one of those ones that had a door and allowed travels to other dimensions.

This milk bar has been in St. Albans as long as I can remember. It has everything from newspapers, milk and bread to cakes, stationary and party supplies. Shop local and support this true St. Albans icon.

TL:DR: I was scammed/gaslighted here.

Last Sunday, I visited this milkbar twice. Once with my partner to get cigarettes, then later with my kids when I needed milk for my cereal.
When I asked my partner for some loose change, his father gave me a *$20 note - emphasis on the $20! The red colour was what caught my attention and I tried declining but he insisted. So off I went with this one paper money in my pocket.
The guy who was at the milkbar was the same person in the morning. Not sure whether he's the owner or employee.
I put the milk bottle up onto that high counter with the red $20 note. But my children were still choosing items from the ice cream freezer so I turned back to speak to them. They were only 2-3 steps from me so quicly helped them slide the freezer closed. When I came back, that man gave me my change. However, it wasn't enough change and I pointed out that I should have more. The guy then insists that it was the change for $10 that I apparently paid with. I asked him if he's sure because I was sure I had a red note on that counter. I even looked around the floor in case it dropped.
This standup bloke shows me nah, I paid $10, picking up 1 of the 2x blue $10's sitting on his side of the countertop. I started questioning myself and reluctantly had to resign. If I only gave him $10, why was it with another $10? Why was it beside the cash register instead of inside it? It was his words against mine so I went home where my partner's Dad was. He and my partner both confirmed that he had given me $20.
I am appalled with this shops conduct and behaviour. I should've demanded seeing CCTV footage of the transaction. I mean, he would've done so had it been his money instead.

This place is using my own number they are using my number which they shouldn’t be
