রংপুরের প্রধান শহীদ মিনার হল এটি। জাতীয় সকল মহান শহীদদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানানো হয়। ভাষা দিবস, বিজয় দিবস ও স্বাধীনতা দিবস সরকারি ভাবে পালন করা হয়। এছাড়া সরকারি উন্নয়ন মেলা শহীদ মিনারের সামনের খালি জায়গায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। শুধু সরকারি না বেসরকারি অনেক অনুষ্ঠান এখানে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বলা চলে এটি রংপুর শহরের একটি প্রানের স্থান।
