Had to come twice in order to be able to visit. Located a few meters away from the Grand Place, it dates back to the 12th century, making it one of the oldest churches in Brussels. The church showcases a blend of architectural styles, including Romanesque and Gothic elements. It has witnessed centuries of history, including periods of religious and political upheaval, being not only a place of worship but also a testament to Brussels' rich history and architectural legacy.

Adorable church in Brussels downtown. Genuine oasis of peace in Europe's always busy administrative capital. Its humble and clear style offer an intense serene sensation, inviting the parishoner to sit on the wood benches and contemplate the impressing yet not overloaded altar.

A stunning Catholic Church (one of the oldest in Brussels). It also has an artifact dating back to the 1500’s. Really beautiful architecture both on the inside and outside. Really glad I came upon this church and went in for a visit.

Very interesting church. What is striking at the very beginning is that the axis of the church is not straight - the chancel and the nave are not positioned in a straight line. The most important thing to see here is the sarcophagus containing the remains of the martyrs of Gorkum. Besides, from the outside the church has built in several medieval merchant houses, which still serve the same purpose.

One of the oldest and well preserved church of Brussels, built in 12th century located in the heart of city center. Doesn’t look so impressive from outside but has a beautiful choir, side altars and detailed wooden pulpit. Spend some time inside, it is really calm and peaceful. It has a rich history that can be seen through the numerous reconstructions it has been through.

A beautiful old church in the heart of Brussels
This church is said to hold relics of St Nicholas, and also has a lovely interior. It is not the most spectacular church in Brussels, but it is not bad at all.

Beautiful church with a wonderful choir and mass. One of the few churches that offer english prayer service in brussels. The sunday english mass is at 10 am every sunday for those who wish to visit.

Fits well the city centre. Interesting history and ambiance. If you visit the Bourse, pop in for a quick look or moment of silence. It blends in so much with the surrounding that coming from the direction of rue Neuve, it is easy to miss.

The church of Saint Nicolas of Brussels , built around 1125 , is one of the first four churches of the city of Brussels and best preserved in its successive developments. Being close to the Palais de la Bourse , it is commonly called Saint-Nicolas de la Bourse .

Constructed in the 11th century, this fine example of medieval architecture is the oldest church in Brussels. If you are lucky, you may even catch one of the occasional services given in English.
