This church is awesome.entrance is free. Its baroque architectural style and the statues inside are breath taking. You shouldn’t miss visiting it when you are in Gent. By the way, the back side of the church is also great for views and photography. Strongly recommended especially in sunny days. Take a break in its yard and enjoy the beautiful scenery

Stunning cathedral, one of the main attractions of Ghent.
Both exterior and interior is so stunning, was really surprised that Ghent would have such a cathedral, the alter is a true work of art.

There are some renovations taking place currently, so parts of the cathedral are closed but can see it through glass.

Saint Nicholas Church is yet another beautiful work of art in Ghent. The entry is free and the church is open until 4pm. Please note that the tower is not above the entrance, it is said that the tower used to serve as some sort of a natural lantern when light shines through the tower.

Sint-Niklaaskerk is one of Ghent's oldest Catholic churches dedicated to St Nicholas of Myra. It was built in the 13th century. It was built in the Gothic style from blue suprascald stone. It has a 76-metre-high tower at the intersection of the naves. The church reflects the history and culture of Ghent. The church contains works of art and a historic organ from the 19th century.

Exceptional church to come and enjoy. The buildings are beautiful and make for wonderful background for your pictures in Ghent. The area is packed with places to explore, drink and eat. If you are in Ghent, Saint Nicholas is a must for your trip.

A 13th century Scheldt-Gothic church. Architectural style Scheldt-Gothic actually originated from the Scheldt river and shows specific features such as a long tower and the use of blue-green stone blocks collected from the river. It’s been demolished and renovated over the years. The church is known to be one of the most common spots for merchants and marketers in the history. Completely free to visit and I would definitely recommend.

This church is one of the oldest and most prominent landmarks in Ghent which is located at the Korenmarkt (wheat market).Very nice church. My favorite in whole town. It has very impressive exterior. Made in gothic style with very nice cupola.During weekends especially on saturday it will be crowded with tourists. If you want to reach this church from Central station Gent sint pieters then take Tram 1 just opposite to Sint pieters station and get down at korenmarkt stop,it may take 15-20mins approx to reach korenmarkt

View of Saint Nicholas' Church "Sint Niklaaskerk" and Ghent city skyline seen from the Belfort tower, Ghent Belgium
Another one of those places that win whether you go inside or don't. Great inside but don't miss the outside architecture from up top of other buildings surrounding it, especially from top of Belfort tower. It's worth spending some time throughout the day for different lights and cloud conditions. Sheltered from the rain photos of Sint Niklaaskerk come out great under clouds

Beautiful church, nice to wander around for a while if you're into that sort of thing. Free entry, I think you have to pay to go on the upper floors though. Worth a visit when you're in the city

This is a very beautiful church right in the center of the city. It is really nice to see from the outside. We did not have time to go inside but maybe next time we will try to. If you are near that area of town I would walk over to it just to take in the architecture of the church. It’s really nice to see it.

A Beautiful Church in the heart of the city of Ghent. Gives a Royal Mighty Look to the city, but sad that there is only few to worship God in this beautiful building. A must visit if you are visiting Ghent.

An important and beautiful heritage site. Historical architecture creates beautiful sites for photography and artistic appreciation. The chimes take you back momentarily. Easy to access via trams.

St. Nicholas Church is one of the oldest and most remarkable and beautiful landmarks in Ghent, Belgium. The instruction was started in the early 13th century as a replacement for a Romanesque church. It took hundred years to be completed as it is now. It has a Scheldt Gothic style.
