Bistro Den Amand

As a last minute dinner decision, Bistro Den Amand exceeded every expectation! The restaurant is small and cozy and exceptionally clean. The service is great and the food is absolutely incredible. The sea bass off the specials menu was amazing. Recommend calling for a reservation as there are very few tables and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to dine here.

Visited as a solo diner on a quiet weekday night and had a delicious meal (lamb with winter vegetables - the special, then freshly homemade chocolate mousse for dessert). Very friendly service from the two person team. Central location, small restaurant. Will make a point to come back if ever I find myself in Bruges again!

Quaint 6 table Bistro just steps away from the Market. The husband and wife team provided us with a terrific meal and attentive, informative and pleasant service. I definitely recommend the Bruges specialty appetizer to enjoy while the main course is being thoughtfully prepared.
Other than the appetizer, we had one of the nightly specials, wild venison with Port sauce, fresh vegetables, baked apples, mushrooms and croquettes, and the Chateaubriand with peppercorn sauce, baked fingerling potatoes and added a fresh seasonal salad. Everything was delicious.
Bonus: Belgian style non-alcoholic beer!

A beautiful, quiet, and small bistro tucked away from the main square of Bruges. The food was absolutely exceptional, think grandmother's cooking but elevated. We ordered the special duck and the chateaubriand. The duck came rare, with a thick dark meaty jus, with an array of different vegetables, a mound of sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, and potato croquettes (plus extra on the side!). The steak was good with a creamy peppercorn sauce. Excellent and friendly service they gave us extra paprika crackers and a little olive pate at the beginning. Portions were very generous and we were stuffed afterwards! Would recommend getting in early for lunch as they only can do so many covers with just a small two person team.

We had no idea what we wanted to eat. But fate brought us inside and it was a winner. The menu is supremely seasonal. The appetizer was playful and delicious. We were treated to a seemingly random scattering of fresh ingredients that all worked together. The mains were likewise visually chaotic but united in flavor.

Sophisticated yet satisfying food, focusing on Belgian standards but with inventive twists and occasional Asian inspirations. Friendly and welcoming service. Just a few steps from the most touristy corner of Bruges, yet it feels like a local find.

Probably the best food we had in Belgium. Amazing beer selection. Incredible friendly and attentive staff. Super nice outside seating with lovely views. A great experience that makes a Belgium trip complete.

Top restaurant, 5 star service, outstanding food quality. Everything was cooked to perfection, you can taste quality ingredients. Lastly - it is inexpensive comparing to other restaurants of similar caliber in the area. Highly recommended

Lovely restaurant.

We booked it on Easter Monday for the dinner that evening and were lucky to get a table. When we arrived he remembered us and arranged for us to sit outside as soon as the other guests left (5mins after we arrived) as he knew we wanted to enjoy dinner with an outdoor table, really thoughtful.

The restaurant serves good solid portion sizes for dinner. It’s run by a husband and wife team who work hard and care, the food is really tasty. We both had the specials for dinner hence the white asparagus that was in season is in both photos.

The service was quick given there was only one person serving everyone. He even took a lovely photo of us and took his time to make the photo come out well.

Would definitely recommend this place.

Lastly- one tip, go for the tinned mackerel to share as a starter to nibble on something, it was really really good !

Best food we’ve had this trip! I had the asparagus with salmon, which was amazing; super tender asparagus. My husband had the rack of lamb and loved it. Great restaurant and great service!

Excellent restaurant serving extremely fresh and well presented local food with a slightly Asian touch (e.g. spring rolls). Restaurant is run by just two people (husband and wife(?)) - amazing how smoothly it runs. Simple but ample menu covering all needs (meat, fish, pasta). We had the vegetarian spring rolls (huge and tasty), Chateaubriand - fantastic value for 30 Euros and the fish of the day. Portions are very generous, taste delicious. Was the one of the best if not the best meal of our holiday.

It's a cosy nice little restaurant and the food is exceptionally delicious. Food preparation takes longer than average but the food is worth the wait. I ordered the tagliatelle with chicken and creamy cheese sauce and it was amazing.

Good food and close to the market square. We had the steak with peppercorn sauce and the salad was very nice and fresh.

Excellent pasta and excellent service. Good English skills for the staff. Probably the best pasta from Belgium.

We had a delicious lunch here. They were so nice and accommodating. We had an outside table that was perfect. The waiter brought really neat games and treats that delighted our children. The food was delicious! I highly recommend.
