'T Schrijverke

My husband, who is very fussy, says it's the best tartar he's had in a restaurant. I had the local beef stew, which was tender and flavorful. The service was prompt and attentive.

Our hotel concierge at Van Cleef made a last minute switch for us to this restaurant since we had a large group and young children. Glad we switched because the experience could not have been any better. The muscles in a vegetable broth was fantastic along with all other items. The owner was expecting us and greeted us with a most welcoming tone. From the minute we entered to the time we left, the choice was perfect. While our group had children, the restaurant is upscale and suitable for anyone. In our case it ended up being family friendly but it's a nice dining spot in Bruges where my wife and I would also go back on a couples adult evening.

Excelente well done rib eye, delicious everything salad, mushroom souce, potatos and mussels!! The view is awesome, the waiters are very nice; I recommend this place to hace a romantic dinner with the love of your life!

Came in for a drink and a break. Ended up staying for hours and having dinner. Lovely place to sit and relax, we (as a family) played cards for hours whilst having drinks and then had dinner. Food was delicious and service great. No hesitation to recommend, delicious food.

We called in for a beer and sweet waffles after a lovely trip on the canal, it was so good we came back later for dinner, Irish Angus ribeye stakes. Great food and service I would highly recommend if you are in the beautiful town of Bruges

We just walked by and sat down for a beer and ended up staying for a full meal. Lovely service and great food, especially "catch of the day" on their night specials menu.

Friendly staff and excellent food!

We were hesitant to visit this restaurant because of some of the reviews we read about this place, but the pictures of the food looked great so we decided to risk it. Soooooo glad that we visited this restaurant. I read in other reviews that the staff was rude to them..this was definitely not the case with us. The staff was very nice and helpful. I also read in other reviews that the restaurant charges elevated prices to tourists. Again, this did not happen to us. We were charged exactly what the prices on the menu stated. Everything was delicious and portions were amazing! I ordered the pork cheeks..this was a great decision.

I went here with my family for dinner. Waiter was kind and service was good, food was all excellent. Asian or vegetarian menus were all good. Waiter gave us chopsticks for caring(although we didn’t need) :) great place for nice meal.

Fantastic dining experience! A little expensive but the portions are tremendous and the food is incredible. In fact, the mussels are the best I've tried from all over the world. The service was very friendly and the Bruges zot blond beer on tap was so good!

We basically stumbled across T Schrijverke on a walk around the city. We stopped in for coffee and dessert in the afternoon and were pleased with the atmosphere and service, and decided to return for dinner. It was no mistake. The food and service were first class from start to finish. Local white asparagus was in season and complimented a generous portion of fish that was perfectly prepared. You may find a fancier place (and more expensive), but will be hard pressed to find a more authentic experience. It is only a few blocks away from the crowded and heavily tourist center -- a lovely walk from the Markt.

The beers, the food and the attention were just amazing. Really nice people and the food was delicious... if you go here, you can not forget to try the waffles!!!

Great little lunch meal. Service was excellent and food tasty. Also had a terrific Bruges beer to top it off. Got our first visit to Bruges off to an outstanding start. Definitely would return.

Just stopped for a gluwein, mind blown. I expected the usual stuff out of a bottle, but no. This is good red wine to which they have added the correct spices and citrus... delish!
