Great place, loads of atmosphere. Good loud music. Mainly for drinks but think there may have been a small amount of snacks.

Great beer. Super friendly staff. Get chips or ice cream from nearby for the kids and then sit and chill and enjoy a lovely beer from excellent breweries. Service was excellent

Love the vibe of this bar! Been here many times! Upstairs there are some sofas to chill on. There's a terrace in the back with a view of the water.

Cozy pub in Gent, has a nice view of the water if you go all the way to the back. The drinks are nice. But you have to pay 50 cents to go to the bathroom.

Best bar in town. Just go there. Do check out the views from upstairs or the terras in the back in summertime (and by night). Good choice of beers, and free wifi.

Nice bar lounge to drink something and talk with friends of family

Lemonade was delish (non alcoholic, changes daily), but it's a cool, caverny looking bar. Old movie posters on the wall, nostalgic feel. Basically an open, kinda coed bathroom. Sofas in the back/upstairs, and a nifty secret back patio along the water. Right in the city centre. Lotsa fun!

Caffe in the very city center with very reasonable prices. The building is very old and nice.

This is one of the places I love to take my foreign friends, for a true Belgian experience. A "brown cafe" as we call it. From tasty beers from the draft to a sausage that has been drying behind the bar. The environment feels like walking in a pub 300 years ago. A lot of noise, candle light and if you're lucky, an old leather sofa to sink into. Love this place!

It must have been at least 10 years since I've been here last and I was pleasantly surprised about the improvements they made while keeping the authencity. This nice mix is even reflected in their choice of beverages and snacks. I look forward to my next visit.

Nice place to enjoy alone or with friends, plenty spaces... The environment is suitable to chit chat. Although there are not many beer variety the few are the best... I recommend the Flemish coffee here

Great place to go with friends to drink a beer served by a super friendly staff. Situated in a very old building with a fantastic atmosphere!
Nice to know: if you order a drink, you can eat the food you bought elsewhere here. I always go for frietjes (fries)!

A very good café visited by a lot of the local college students. Cozy, charming, lots of candles to play with. You're guaranteed to have a good drink, chat, and candlewax sticking to your fingers.

Dropped into this place on a whim. We were walking by, and the patio looked busy, so we popped in. Glad we did! This bar is in a very old building; I'm not sure what the purpose of it was back in the day, but it's now sectioned off and home to multiple businesses. Het Spijker is a cool establishment..the first floor is a cozy bar with a long-hanging ceiling, and the second floor is the same thing sans bar. The entire place is authentic; there's no sprucing of this joint up. Original stone walls and rafters are exposed all over. We ended up staying for two beers and having a conversation that lasted most of the night. A great time!

Excellent service and decent beer selection. WiFi available. Be sure to check out the terras in the back. Much more relaxed than the one in the front.
