Hotel-Restaurant Chavkova House

Good service Restaurant with many dishes from local cuisine. Home made specialties and for the end some space must be kept for Special ice cream made by the owner ( walnut edition ). Staff can speak fluently English and place is very warm. Dishes are well prepared.

Great food. Great location. Super friendly staff. A must visit if your are in Melnik. Also they have a super friend fat cat named Gosho. You would love it!

The restaurant was excellent, with great food and attentive service. Our host(ess) was knowledgeable about the area and was able to make recommendations, and of course was able to steer us toward simply fabulous food on her menu. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned for an equally wonderful experience the following evening. We definitely will be back.

The Restaurant is serving Traditional Bulgarian cuisine and the food was excellent! We had a chicken soup , BBQ ,home made chips and salads! All the food and the service were absolutely brilliant.

Restaurant was good. Dishes were tasty and picturesque. Waitress was well-knowledgeable about the region and treated us well. House wine was top notch.
Location is good - no way to miss it. Summer hot was dispersed with fans. Sadly the dry riverbed nearby did not brought any refreshment.
Look out for the local cat Gosho so you would not step on him :)

The food is delicious! Tripe soup its very different from what i know before but very good (dont put too much vinegar, its very tough). Also the lamb is good. The local ice cream is amazing. And the waitress... Well i am in love :))).

Excellent choice for food. Everything that we had tasted were delicious. Prices reasonable and the waitress very polite!!!! Also the menu was in Greek and in English!!!!

Amazing service. Hospitality at its finest. Visited the place recently for my birthday and instantly felt at home. The host has been available at all times to answer our milion questions for the area and where to go and how to get there. Super clean rooms, equipped with everything a four or five star hotel can offer, at the same time averagely priced and very affordable. The guest house is located in the heart of Melnik, making visiting all the tourist spots located in town super easily accessible on foot. Will definitely come back.

I highly recommend the place !!!Is hard to choose a good restaurant in Melnik !!! We were lucky we found this great restaurant unfortunately on our last night at Melnik !! Otherwise we would have definitely repeated ... the food offered is like all other places very traditional however with good quality food and tasty cooked ! What I loved most was the wine selection. You could find the high class Bulgarian wines.. service is top and atmosphere is cozy and nice :)

The homemade biscuit cake and ice cream were delicious and the lady was friendly and smiling. Would recommend.

Small, charming, family-run hotel in the very middle of Melnik, the smallest town in Bulgaria. The hotel is covered by two enormous 500-years old platan trees, has one of the best restaurants in town, and offers good and friendly service. Recommend!

Great place! Friendly people and amazing service, delicious traditional kitchen, the best homemade wine of the area, clean and cozy rooms with view, located in the center of the village exactly at the main square.

I stayed at Chavkova House for two days in October 2012.The rooms may not be luxurious but are very nice and clean. The pricing will depend on the season and was, at least to my experience, very reasonable.

I spent two weeks in Bulgaria in 2012 and this was by far the best hotel I spent a night at.

The best thing about this hotel is the service. If you have any questions considering potential places to visit, the offered food or just want to talk about something, don't be shy to ask and you will get answers.

If you want to find the hotel in Melnik, you don't have to write down the address as it is by far the nicest looking place around. If you visit the small town of Melnik, just drive around and think where the nicest place would be to have a drink and you will certainly will find yourself in front of the Chavkova House.

The (red) house wine is especially recommendable! Try the other ones from the area if you like but the guys there do know what they are doing in selecting the house wine for the season.

We spent a very relaxing weekend in "Chavkova house" hotel. The place is quite pleasant and chilly. We enjoyed a delicious kitchen under the old trees in front of the house. The rooms were clean and the service is wonderful. The hosts were so nice that they even guided us on a trip to Zlatolist. (A must see place!) We will definitely visit Melnik soon again and we will stay in the same house. We strongly recommend it.

We had dinner at this local food restaurant and tried local dishes. Woooow, how tasty was that! Pity that stomach is too small to try all local food. Portions are very big

Convenient location and delicious food. A nice restaurant in the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik. The town is worth a visit as it is in authentic Bulgarian renaissance architecture and famous for its wines and food.

Salad, fries and shashlik were all delicious. Friendly service. And the cool resident cat Gosho.

Great hotel in the centre of the town (near the giant tree), possibly the best in Melnik, highly recommended. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfortable. Restaurant is okay. Staff is very friendly.
