Lozen Monastery of the Holy Saviour

Lovely place for a 2-3 hours walk, suitable for kids. The path is well kept and accessible by car or by foot in all seasons.

One can get to it with a car, but I prefer to stop at the bottom and have a good long walk to the monastery. When you get there, outside the monastery there is a place for a picnic. The monastery looks very nice, the church is beautiful inside and there is a great view. Also, you can buy honey 🍯 and souvenirs.

Great place to be after a walk of 2.7km through the hiking trail, when you are there you can fill uo your bottles with a nice cold mountain water. Offers a great view of eastside province area of Sofia.

The monastery is in the middle of a hiking trail in the Lozen mountain. It has seating area outside where you can relax for a while and eat what you have brought.

Great walk from Lozen and backwards. Approximately in the middle of the road to Polovrag peak.
The monastery surroundings are slowly starting to fade, because of a lot of garbage being thrown away from reckless "tourists".

You can take a few different trails that you can take to reach to the monastery. You can go there by car as well but it is off-road and the charm is to make the effort by foot. There is a meadow with tables and benches just in front for R&R. There is also a fountain with cold water there.
