Hotel Villa Magus

This is a socialist-era vacation facility of a long non-existent mining company that has been totally refurbished as a 4* hotel. Nowadays, it is a great place, just a short drive from Sofia, in the forest on the southern slopes of Vitosha mountain. It is easy to get there and the road is well maintained. The rooms are spacious, with big terraces and great views, there are also apartments. The food is terrific and the staff is very professional, which is a real rarity. There is also an indoor pool, a small spa and a conference room. This is the second time I stay here, on company events, but I highly recommend this hotel.

Just a swift drive from Sofia, great food in the restaurant- would definitely recommend. Plenty of paths around for a good walk in the mountain to build your appetite, clean air, quietness..... and, yeah, common you see where this is going.... the food is good. Very friendly staff and owner.

Wow! What a wonderful place!!!
The rooms are spacious, equipped and well maintained.
The view from the rooms is s enjoyable and calming.
The hotel is located in the middle of the woods, with plenty of trails you can walk in.
There is a superb heated pool that we enjoyed a lot.
The hotel staff is excellent - very polite, attentive and helpful.
When you stay in the hotel you feel at home and not in aמ estranged place.

A wonderful place, special location. The hotel has a super swimming pool, with warm and clean water, perfect for children and adults. The room I stayed in (17) is large, has a double bed, has a generous terrace with a wonderful view. The staff is very kind and the food excellent. I will definitely come back. I didn't find anything to complain about.

Good location, very nice hotel, and very pleasant service. Would highly recommend to stay here if nearby or planning to go here. It was not possible to join for breakfast due to an early flight. They made breakfast boxes and provided us with some coffee to go. Pool and steam cabin was clean and sufficient towels were provided.

Although the rooms are a bit old fashioned and the TV offers little English channels, it is still fine and worth a four star rating.

Pretty decent place with enough space for small business conferences or family weekends in the mountain. Rooms are with enough space, food, and services are excellent, and the prices are normal.

The staff were communicative and very helpful, answering every question and need prior to our stay... Even including room decorations for my partner's birthday! They accommodated our changing arrival times and adjusted restaurant reservations accordingly.

The restaurant is top notch with each dish having clear and distinctive flavors and with excellent table presentation.

The whole facility is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained and the rooms are quiet and cozy with, in our case, a lovely balcony with beautiful mountain panoramic view, including a gorgeous night sky.

The bathroom was spotless with great water pressure and plenty of hot water.

There's a very nice pool although we didn't use it on this trip.

We look forward to coming back ... Hopefully often.

It's a wonderful and relaxing Sofia getaway and on next visit week be exploring the lovely mountain hikes I'm sure are nearby, given that the hotel is up on Vitosha mountain.

Great place, lovely view from balcony. Food is good, but prices are little high.

Definitely one to consider for a stopover or a long weekend.
A very nice hotel, in a beautiful location. Clean, spacious, with a pool (& other facilities), and wonderful views from the room.
Rich breakfast and tasty carefully done food with a lot of options to choose from. Lots of refined options at the bar, too.
There is a small kids’ corner well equipped to keep them busy, for a while.

Cosy place. Far away from the crowds of the winter resorts. Very good food in the restorant except the following:

There was an incident with a smelly trout for the dinner. Such dish should not leave the kitchen :( They replaced it with a good other dish from the menu.

The place is situated at a very picturisque location with excauisite view. The overall service was at world level, not to mention the restaurant food and staff. We rented an appartment for business purposes and everything was great. The SPA is not able to situate the whole hotel if fully booked and in my oppinion this wold be the only minus to it.

Very spacious rooms, good service and restaurant a bit overprice menu, but what we ordered everything was really delicious. In spring, summer and autumn seasons you will be able to combine with side walks in Vitosha mountain.

Really great hotel located on peaceful place in the mountains with great views and services. The restaurant is also very luxurious and the food is delicious.

Extraordinary location and a lovely room! Everyone working at the hotel is incredibly nice and polite, always happy to help! The food at the restaurant is beyond compare- massive and super delicious portions. Recommending it to everyone looking for a peaceful place to relax and have a quality time.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Vitosha Park , with breathtaking view of mountains.
The spa center is with Russian bath and the pool is with warm water and special healthy salts .
We had a wonderful time there , walking in the mountains, swimming and enjoying delicious food in the restorant of the hotel .

Brand new hotel with large luxurious rooms right in the green green mountain Vitosha. The view and nature around is amazing. The First class food in the restorant and very good spa center.
There are also billiards and other games available, as well as massages from real professionals. Can’t believe that there is such relaxing and beautiful place so close to the Sofia (45 min driving from center) .

Everything is more than amazing! Will stay here again. The area is beautiful with the most amazing views from the rooms and the rooms are deluxe, feels like 5 star hotel weather than 4. The only issue for some people might be the lack of WiFi in the rooms but you should come here to relax, not to be connected all the time
