Wonderful service and beautiful stays here. I have stayed many times and attended conferences here. The facilities and food are amazing. The service is also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond for me and my family, moved my luggage for me, and even had a youth-sized robe placed in the room for my 4-year old son - amazing! Many thanks to Lauranne, Caralie, and Nicola for the amazing services. Truly impressed!

A superlative experience. My wife and I were there with our three foster kiddies, all under 5, and they had a lovely time. The staff were always professional and very approachable, the rooms were just the right balance of rustic yet incredible comfortable and welcoming. I cannot recommend it enough.

Chateau Montebello truly delivered an exceptional experience for our family during our 2-night stay. The variety of activities for the kids, from bingo to a pool party with ice cream and fruits, kept them entertained and happy. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a diverse selection to please every palate. What set this stay apart was the impeccable service – a waiter's thoughtful gesture of serving hot chocolate with whipped cream perfectly tempered for my 3-year-old showcased their attention to detail and genuine hospitality. Our time at Chateau Montebello was nothing short of memorable.

So happy to be back with my teen kids and extended family. Hotel looks amazing as ever. Staff are new and competent and efficient; I do miss the friendly faces of staff I knew over 30 years. Food is amazing as ever. Had an updated large room, 315, beautiful river view, updated bathroom. We swam, one of the best pools in Canada, hot tub, sauna. Reserved an hour in the tennis bubble for basketball and street hockey. We love the tubing and dogsledding there but there was not enough snow. Played cards in the lobby. Had reflexology in the spa, highly recommend. Missed a piano player. Visited park Omega beforehand, very fun. Thanks for another great chapter in our connection to this incredible architectural marvel.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Service was amazing and the setting is beautiful. We find the rooms a bit small but this was our 4th time here and will continue to visit.

We like to go here for their fabulous Sunday brunch. It is currently offered only once a month and it was pretty full, so make sure you call ahead. I hadn't been for a couple years and it was stopped during covid, so it was great to be back. Over Christmas the hotel has beautiful decorations so it was a great time to go. We had not really had snow until the day we went so being there with a lively snow falling, all the decorations, family, great food, magical.
Now it was not quite what it was a few years ago. They used to have more roasts and usually king crab, but still spectacular. It was my wife's birthday and the brought mamosa's and a nice tear to take home with a sparkler after. A walk around the grounds and town is a nice way to finish the visit or head to the pool and hot tubs (fee).

The cost is high but for the experience still worth it.

My mother and I were there for a milestone birthday celebration. The level of care we received was fabulous and made our stay extra special. The hotel and amenities were exceptionally clean. Always a pleasure to stay at Fairmont Montebello.

This is a Canadian iconic hotel, have stayed here a few times at the holiday season.
The lobby is beautifully decorated, with Christmas trees decorated by local businesses, all around the balcony. Quite busy with a holiday business celebration, so we are in the village instead.
Rooms and beds are comfy and clean , cabin like atmosphere which is quite soothing at Christmas! Porters and front desk staff are cheerful and efficient.

Real and authentic luxury. Not your typical fake plastic wannabe chic.
The food is great in this unique setting

The history and charm of this special property together with the central gathering of guests around the fireplace area compliment the excellent service of the staff and the myriad of year-round activities for families to participate. We can't recommend Ch. Montebello highly enough.

Incredible time at Chateau Montebello. Excellent, friendly service and so many amenities to enjoy. Bring your book to read by the fire, outdoor gear to make the most of the snowy trails (and for the short walk to the town), and swimsuit for laps in the great 23 meter pool. Loved the holiday decorations and activities.

This is an update to my review below. A year later we went back to the Chateau Montebello, with our Siberian Husky (Gryphon) - and what a different experience we had! After my complaint with our last visit (read below), and discussions with the hotel management, the reception of the hotel with respect to dogs seems much different. We had a great stay at the Chateau Montebello, similar to so many experiences in the past. The room, service and of course the location were all 5 stars. Our dog was good as he always is and the staff were exceptionally welcoming to him. I believe well-behaved dogs actually add to the ambiance of a hotel like the Chateau Montebello. Dozens and dozens of people, kids, and staff came up to Gryphon as he laid (on leash) beside us as we sat out on the second floor foyer reading and playing games. It felt like "home" as it has in the past. I hope our experience from last year (explained below) was an anomaly and our experience this past weekend the norm. I can assure you we will be back again to see. Thanks to the management and staff of the Chateau Montebello for a great stay.

We have stayed here several times and always enjoyed it, despite the very high cost (higher than what it is worth in my view). We enjoy the facilities, though increasingly, despite a relatively new cash grab $37 resort fee, facilities are not available because of repairs (indoor tennis courts most recently). We have taken our dog (well trained Siberian Husky) in the past and other guests and kids in particular love coming to see him as we relax in the expansive lobby.

Well, this experience was different and disappointing this time. We arrived with our Husky and the reception worker was quick to tell us he needed to be on leash at all times (reasonable request) and was not allowed in the lobby or any other part of the indoor resort except our room, and we needed to be there with him. If we left him in the room, he needed to be in a cage and must be quiet. Our dog, like many, has never been in a cage/kennel, and he would certainly howl under such circumstances. So we cancelled our reservation and drove back home. While I was cancelling our reservation, right in front of the receptionist was a beautiful golden retriever sitting in the lobby, so I asked the owner how it has been with the dog. She said they were in the lobby a lot over the past few days and no one said anything. That is like what it had been in the past for us, and certainly adds to the atmosphere. They also have a hotel dog that spends much time in the lobby, as do other Fairmont hotels - it is one of the features I particularly like about these hotels. Anyway, I caution any dog owner from bringing your dog to this resort. By their rules it is NOT DOG FREINDLY, at best DOG TOLERANT. They clearly apply the rules inconsistently making it harder to assess the true standards. We need to find a place where dogs are welcomed and not forced into the room when not outside.

I have always wanted to see this hotel as it is very unique. I think it is billed as the worlds largest log frame construction building. It has a long history; started out as a private club and eventually sold to CP Hotels and turned into this unique masterpiece. I only toured the place as that is all the time I had and it was the architecture I was most fascinated with.
I felt like I was stepping into a movie set.
Once I return and have a meal or drink or stay in the hotel I will be able to post my impressions on those services but for now the architecture speaks for itself.
