A must do experience!
The ambience, food, music, syrup, syrup and more syrup were exceptional!
The (lovely & so personable), owner came around to greet people and offered us a 'sample' of the deeeelicious wine they are now stocking!
The outside fire, taffy sampling & beautiful property all made this an evening to remember

Must see! Fabulous place and worth the drive for sure. Just a really great experience. Food was great and more than you could eat really. Live music during dinner. Taffy on the snow was great (and free) and they have lovely trails that are well marked. 10/10 experience overall. On certain days they have wagon rides and more.

Pro tip...for some reason our pea soup was not steaming hot like the tables around us. Also, the waiter did not put the homemade ketchup, or jam or the pickle condiments on our table even though all the other tables around us had them. It was strange actually. Make sure you ask for hot soup if they don't give it to you but even the luke warm soup was very good.

We were here in January. It looks like a small village in a winter wonderland. The restaurant was lovely and authentic. We have had the all you can eat traditional menu and it was of high quality and tasty. Since it was off season we were the only guests. The founder and owner took time to show us the bakery, and Maple Sirup manufacturing machine. Maple Sirup is produced in a traditional and sustainable way. Unfortunately we had already booked our connection flight - otherwise we would have considered to spend a night in the lovely guesthouses.

This sugar shack was absolutely wonderful. I am not from the area, nor do I speak French. Stefan was kind enough to walk up to my girlfriend and I and offer a small, yet very detailed tour of the grounds. He took us into every building, sharing stories about each one. He also showed us the process of making the maple syrup and how other maple goods are made. He made us some delicious maple taffy, and gave us a very kind and warm welcome. Stefan was very nice and inviting and got to know us as people. Please do not hesitate to visit here whenever you are in the area!

This suger shack is worth visiting. The tour of the shack with a short explanatuon of how maple sirup is made is included in the price menu, the menu is diverse and tasty and all you can eat, but believe me you’ll be so full that you’ll be happy to try the meals a bit of each.

During our recent visit to Sucrerie de la Montagne, we were transported into the heart of an authentic sugar shack experience that beautifully embraced simplicity, embodying the rustic charm that defines this hidden gem. Despite being outside the typical sugar shack season, the welcoming doors of Sucrerie de la Montagne opened to our family visiting from Hungary, providing an indelible and quintessentially authentic experience.

From the moment we set foot on the quaint property, the air carried the enticing scent of wood smoke, promising culinary delights. The ambiance, akin to a storybook setting, preserved and celebrated traditions with unwavering passion.

The food, though unpretentious, unfolded a tapestry of flavors that traversed the annals of Quebecois cuisine, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for culinary artistry in every bite.

The recommended local wine blend, Wapiti, tailored for the family patriarch, seamlessly complemented the savory dishes, adding a layer of sophistication to the already extraordinary dining experience.

What truly set Sucrerie de la Montagne apart was not just the delightful fare or the wine but the palpable sense of heartwarming hospitality that permeated the air. Murielle and Valerie, the gracious custodians, elevated our experience with genuine warmth and meticulous attention to detail, transforming a meal into a cherished memory.

Murielle and Valerie seamlessly blended attentive service with a passion for sharing the essence of Sucrerie de la Montagne. Their anecdotes about the sugar shack's history, coupled with infectious enthusiasm, created an atmosphere where guests felt like treasured friends.

In the heart of Sucrerie de la Montagne, we discovered more than a dining destination – a sanctuary of authenticity and tradition. The experience transcended time and space, shaping memories that will forever linger in our hearts. Departing, we held profound gratitude for discovering a place where heartfelt service converges in perfect harmony. Sucrerie de la Montagne is undeniably a jewel, deserving accolades for its unwavering commitment to preserving the spirit of Quebecois heritage.

This was a fantastic experience and one we would repeat. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the sheer beauty of the surrounding forest of maple trees, aspen, and more. Gorgeous examples of local flowers interspersed amongst very well maintained cozy rustic buildings, each with a well documented (photographs and guide stories) purpose. Our personable and humorous guide and his family took us on a trip back to a simpler time where a slower pace and quality reigned as king of the forest. They had many options for activities, but as we were on a guided tour, we enjoyed stories, share a family style meal accompanied by a local musician, followed by a rousing round of playing spoons, a refreshing walk along some of the trails, and some shopping in their store. I never knew there were so many things one could do with maple syrup and so far, this has been the "sweetest" adventure yet!

I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The maple syrup is amazing, and is also manually gathered with traditional buckets, and the food is also great. Though, the real experience is in the service. There's live music, played by two nice and funny employees, and you even get to play along with it with spoon-instruments. The location is also beautiful; right in the middle of the woods, a great view of nature and overall a refreshing place.

Sucrerie de la Montagne is by far the most amazing sugar shack nestled within the community of Rigaud, Quebec and I was fortunate to spend time there with an awesome friend in mid October. The food, ambience, l4 separate log cabins, huge dining areas as well as outside seating are simply picturesque. They have a small store where maple syrup and other items pertaining to French cuisine and culture are sold and the staff are incredible. Pierre, owner, Veronique and Stefan, also co-owners, as well as Veronique and Julia at the bar made me feel so welcome and very graciously treated myself and mon amie, Jo-Anne, who also is employed there, to lunch, and amazing drinks, i.e. a flavorful red wine produced and sold in the Rigaud area. Sincere gratitude to you all for an incredible dining and tguided tour of your gorgeous property. Fond regards and hope to see you again next summer when I am in Montreal.

Really nice experience. A tad expensive for what it is, but for the price you get generous serving of authentic food, a nice atmosphere and a friendly service, all in the middle of a maple forest.

This sugar shack was the highlight of our trip to Quebec province. Pierre, the owner, was very welcoming. The music, decoration and food made the experience very authentic and fun. We had a great time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone that is going to Montreal area.

Delicious food. Fantastic atmosphere. Huge helping of food. I had the $45 meal.

Stefan was super friendly and helpful. He took time to have a chat and explain how everything works and even showed me around.
Definitely worth visiting and buying their locally made maple syrup from their authentic general store.
I'll visit again, definitely

We we on our way to Montreal and decided to go to a "cabane a sucre" on the spur of the moment. It was very late in the season and thought that the place would be closed. But to our surprise we got to enjoy not only the food but also the entire older days experience. Well worth the cost. We did not use the hotel.

The food is amazing and the maple syrup is the best. There's a great atmosphere with all the performances and it's great for group dinners. Only problem is that it takes a long time to get there since it's in the middle of a forest.

We enjoyed our time here. Food is good (Unlimited Servings), our waitress, Chloè (I apologize if I spelled her name wrong) is amazing, respectful and down to earth! Only bad thing we had is that one of the women almost tried to kick us out and tried to send us to the back of the line, even though we were in line and patiently waiting for our turn. Good thing the man with a long beard (sorry if I didn't get his name) had our backs and we was seated at last. Other than that we had a great time, we will come back next season for sure!!
