Nostalgic and chalk full of History on the heroes who came before us, to protect our freedoms.

This monumental structure leaves an impression of the engrained strength and inherent shields of protection provided by Canada's military. I love approaching the front; turning around, leaning against the fortress doors and feeling not like I'm trespassing... But to imagine two big strong arms of green wrapped around me as I enter again, my sorrowful regrets for war and prayers for peace.

Being a past member of the C. SCOT.R. during the early 70's, I have many good memories of the armory and my time spent there for training, ceremonies, and parades. The building is steeped in history and tradition. When the pipe band played inside it always had a very stirring effect on me.

I was a member of the 5th BC Fld Bty in the 80’s and have nothing but fond memories of my time there, many live fire exercises in Ft. Lewis, Yakima, and Brandon Manitoba, I remember close friends sadly have lost touch with most but not all, my memories are many and happy. Many Thanks and to all current members Stand Tall and Be Proud of what you are, may all your memories be happy ones.

The Bay Street Armory is a beautiful building. It contains over a century of history. If you can, make sure to access the decorations in the Arty Officers' Mess and the scotch collection in the Infantry Officers' Mess.
