Rexall

I was in the Rexall today and I wanted to send a big thank you to Jenn who worked at the front. She was instrumental in being kind and giving. Thank you Jenn for taking time to help me. It means a lot to me.

Staff is kind and helpful, store is clean, has stuff I need/use for one stop shopping.

They have a system where they will text you when the prescription is ready. It always texts you a day early. lol So, I just wait a couple days after I get the text, and it's always ready.

I once forgot to bring in my new prescription refill from the doctor and I ran out of my anti-depressant meds. By the time I got into the store, I was balling my eyes out for no reason other than missing my meds. The staff were very understanding and compassionate. They gave me 3 days worth of the drug right away to tide me over until it was refilled.

I have always been treated well by all the pharmacy staff there. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they do sometimes lose faxes from the doctor for refills. So, now my doc gives me 3 to 6 months of refills at once and I just make an appointment with her before they run out. That way, I can get the refill paper right from her to give to them. Haven't had a problem since.

Now, there is usually a long lineup when you go there. But, I don't fault them for it. This towns population is at least 50% retired people and has a higher than normal percentage of people on ODSP (probably because it's cheaper than living in the city). That is the reason there is always a line up, they have so many prescriptions to fill and can only fit so many staff in the pill counting/filling area.

They have what you need.

I was always treated with courtesy . With COVID, it is certain that some things are hard to get, but that is not the pharmacy's fault. I just try and put myself in their shoes and understand that rude comments are not needed, just explain the situation troubling you.

One cashier in particular is rude and lazy. Seen it more than once.

Lots of selection as a store, continues to fall short as a pharmacy. Just save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else from the start. Switching to Aikenheads after Rexall has worn my patience thin time and time again.

Everything on clearance was missing prices rather annoying to find staff to get prices on multiple items

As others have said, the pharmacy is absolute garbage. If you could give negative stars I certainly would. Had my spouse suffering in pain after a dental surgery and after waiting 3 hours they suddenly told me they were sorry but there was an issue with my health plan and they didn’t know how to stop solve it. they didn’t even bother to call or warn me. 1 person would tell me it was getting prepared while another couldn’t tell me where the paperwork was. Took my prescription to shoppers in Arnprior and had everything in hand 20 minutes later. They were reading it wrong in Rexall and couldn’t figure out the difference between the letter O and a zero…Absolute and utter incompetence in that pharmacy.

Storefront staff is super nice.
However, I do not recommend using their pharmacy. Multiple times I have waited several days when filling something and it is not ready for pick up. I have a toddler and can not wait for it which is why I use the system to fill them in advance.

Most recently I picked up a prescription in December with only 14 days of a 90 day prescription in the package and nothing indicating they were short and would fill it later. At my previous pharmacy in another city I always had to sign off on this.

The last straw my doctor sent me in a different version of that medication today. I sent my partner to pick it up and they have gave him the rest of my last refill they didn’t tell me about. They filled the new medication with the old version. So now I have two bottles of medication in the wrong format!! They also put a notice on the bottle about having two prescriptions on file for the same medication. What a joke!!

The pharmacy staff is horrible!!! They try to rip off cash paying customers by giving them the brand name pills instead of generic. Shame. Also what pharmacy doesn't have Tylenol with codeine... they don't carry it anymore ... they think they are downtown Toronto with the way they carry on ... Don't waste your time

Terrible pharmacy...never have prescriptions ready..doctors offices have had to call them several times and they kept losing things....I've been waiting 7 days for my daughter's prescription...they told me it would be ready when I called it in the day before.....they still don't have it....and they have never contacted me to tell me my prescriptions were ready...I would strongly advise not dealing with these people
..they are so disorganised and confused..

The staff that work here are very personable and always so polite. However, the work done is horrific. I’ve consistently given 24-48 hours notice of a refill pickup and EVERY SINGLE TIME I show up at the time agreed upon it’s NEVER ready and I have to wait 15-20 mins. I can understand every once in a while it happening, but every time is ridiculous especially when it’s a time that they’ve suggested and agreed to.

By far the WORST pharmacy. There are no words bad enough to describe or stars low enough to rate the professionalism of the pharmaceutical staff at this location. I'm not one to rant on social media but if anyone with any authority is reading this, post a comment with your contact info and I'll explain how you can treat your customers better. In the meantime, I'll be taking every opportunity to strongly encourage people to take their business elsewhere.
