Domaine Appaloosa

My family had an amazing stay in the cozy log cabin at Domaine Appaloosa! The property is gorgeous - well-maintained and in a beautiful, natural setting. The mountain views, the babbling river, and the hiking trails leading right into the regional forest are all breathtaking. Add to that the lovely hot tub nestled in the trees, the private, quiet beach area stocked with canoes and kayaks, the playground and spacious yard for games, and the fully stocked games room in case of rain and you have all you need for a perfect vacation. The cabin was small but extremely well thought out so there was a place for everything. Our kids adored climbing up to their loft beds and we enjoyed a peaceful, comfortable sleep in the bedroom. The hosts were very attentive and will make you a delicious breakfast upon request. We will most definitely be returning next summer!

We have a cottage but it is not insulated so my wife and I felt that we needed a good outing and we found Domaine Appaloosa and were not disappointed. The National Park is accessible right from the front door, We borrowed some of the shared snowshoes and went on a 4 hour trek through the forest, and came back to the Jacuzzi, that was really clean. The holiday was just perfect!

Absolutely wonderful visit. I almost don't want to leave a review because more people might find this place and make it impossible to book! I stayed in the smaller cabin (Harfang). The hosts were very kind, the cabin was clean and well maintained, and the hot tub overlooking the river was perfect after a long snowshoe hike. Extra points for allowing dogs, I never travel without her and it's very hard to find places that accept dogs.

For those complaining about having to clean the cabin yourself (COVID), you're provided a great Dyson vacuum, bio soap, a mop... and it took me all of 10min to clean up after our visit. I'd much rather do this than pay a $200 cleaning fee like many other AirBnBs.

My ONLY gripes (and I won't remove stars for them)
- The ice was not maintained around the hot tub, so I almost inured myself twice just getting the cover off. Ended up shovelling it off myself. Really not an easy task for an individual staying alone.
- My dog alerted me one night to a strange dog that was banging at the back patio door. Turns out it was the owner's dog, but I wasn't expecting him to be loose on the property and at my door at night. Scared the heck out of us, and I thought someone lost their dog! If you visit with your dog, and they're not comfortable with strange dogs, make sure you're prepared for loose dogs.

Amazing cottage, and amaaaaaaaaaaaazing hosts, this is a real cottage all of wood only and NOTHING else, you will remember your trip for life , a must visit place in winter

Gorgeous land

Parfait! Endroit exactement comme on les aime. Rustique et chaleureux, avec le confort du spa à l'extérieur ainsi que les services (électricité, douche). C'est super abordable. Les propriétaires ont été super accueillants et le prêt des raquettes est apprécié, une bonne idée.
Randonnées a proximité.
Le chalet pour 4 est plus approprié pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants si on souhaite utiliser les lits au 2e dans le petit chalet. Pour y accéder, il faut utiliser un mur d'escalade.

Gros coup de coeur pour l'endroit. Le chalet harfang des neiges est un petit chalet très agréable au bord d'une rivière, en retrait des chalets principaux. Le domaine est propre et agréable. L'accès à la forêt Ouareau et à ses sentiers se fait facilement à pied. La forêt est magnifique.

Super domaine! Le chalet était très beau et bien équipé! Très accommodant avec les chiens! La rivière et le lac étaient superbes! propriétaires nous ont très bien reçu, ils étaient toujours prêts à répondre à nos questions et demandent. Merci pour tout!

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine de Noël dans le chalet "Le Caribou". Au programme: raquettes, glissades, randonnées dans la forêt, bataille avec batterie d'auto gelée ;) (Encore un grand merci aux proprios pour leur aide) puis lecture au coin du feu et spa/sauna pour le réconfort après l'effort. Une grande salle commune remplie de jeux pour enfants est aussi agréable avec de grandes baies vitrées donnant sur la forêt!
Domaine magnifique, propriétaires disponibles et adorables. Supers contacts! En bref, un petit coin de paradis pour les amateurs de nature et de calme.
Je recommande vivement...

Un très bel endroit pour passer quelques jours entre amis, famille ou en amoureux ! Très calme, seulement 2 chalets sur le domaine avec un jacuzzi chacun. Profitez du Jacuzzi à la lumière d'un feu de camp et le bruit de la rivière en fond. La forêt Ouareau est à deux pas. Je recommande !

L’endroit est splendide (ballade dans le parc régional, canoë dans la rivière...), le chalet est au pied de la rivière, les hôtes sont très attentionnés et à votre écoute. C’est la seconde fois que je viens et je compte bien y revenir encore et encore. Merci Laura et François pour votre accueil et votre gentillesse. À très vite.

Super chalet, avec une belle rivière pour faire du kayak. Très intéressant pour ceux qui cherche la tranquillité et un bon confort. Un spa est offert sur place et les équipements pour cuisiner.

François le propriétaire est un ami, donc mon avis est orienté. Cependant, le lieu est idyllique, et l'accueil généreux. Vous voulez vous ressourcer, c'est ici que vous y arriverez.

Nous avons passé un fantastique séjour en famille. Si vous y allez, prenez le temps d'aller voir leur plage. La vue est géniale !

Nous avons passez un super séjour au harfeng des neiges, et une balade inoubliable pour voir le pont suspendu !!!!!
