Centre Culturel le Chenail

Been to Le Chenail a cultural Centre a number of times now. My sweetheart put on an Argentine Tango event last year and another one coming up Sept 4, 2023. There is a quaint little coffee bar with a limited selection of yummy pastries and an excellent espresso machine with experienced baristas. I’ve had fantastic coffees every time I’ve visited and you cannot say that for any place that advertises that they serve espressos. The venue hosts different displays of historical context to the area. You can see some of them in my pictures. When I am back I will take more pictures of the outside as well as there is lots of parking and a large picnic area, all surrounded by water! If you want to rent to have your wedding or event here, that’s what they do! Rent is very reasonable and they have a sound system and overheard projector available for rent additionally as well. A small gift shop area featuring local artisan jewelry, books and artwork is located right at the front entrance as you enter. Anchoring this area is a baby grand piano that if you ask nicely you could probably play with keys. It too is available for rental. Lots of light, lots of character , and friendly helpful staff. They do have events outside like crafts shows but I didn’t stick around long enough to see what other types of events take place. Will add additional pictures in the future.

Beautiful location, warm ambiance, the greatest host, Justin and the greatest croissants ,freshly made. A quiet and cosy Saturday morning on a dreary day. Not to be missed. Thank you,Justin, for the wonderful experience.

What a beautiful spot we happened upon. We stopped for a coffee. The cafe / museum is charming and quaint with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and washrooms. The cafe has a variety of coffee / tea and some pastries / sides. The staff are very friendly! The outdoor grounds are charming with views of the water in every direction, lots of chairs available, or space for your own blanket. Lots of parking!

Nice place with interesting things reserved from the old times. We where very interested to know the history of this lady as well. We had no idea!! Take your kids to see it. It's sooo worth it !!

One of the best coffee in town (if not THE...).

Went for my son's art expositions. Never had the chance to go inside before. Very nice place, the lady at the bar was really nice, offered me their booklet and talked about all of the activities they offered. I'll definitely try to go to the Jazz night or piano.

What a lovely historical venue! Friendly & knowledgeable staff, delicious café, & the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon by the water. It was fun to learn the history of the area as well!

Adorable little cafe to visit with beautiful art on the walls and in The giftshop. Check out their cute ideas when searching for gifts: they have garden path home made soap, cute wood and jewellery made by hand and random unique gift ideas for probably every recipient who might be hard to shop for

Beautifully done and peaceful

A lovely spot to see artwork view the Ottawa River and have a nice cup-a. Beautifully decorated, even the toilet is a work of art with a lovely view from the window.
