O Cascades De Rawdon

One of my favorite place for hot weather on summer. Here are great details to know about this place:
- Entrance is $12 (summer 2022), this give you acces to the cascades both sides, the municipal beach, the camping area and to the Dorwin Chutes.
- They open at 10am, beach close at 6pm, one side of the cascades at 6pm and the other side at 8pm.
- You can bring your BBQ, food, music, etc. There are BBQ on the site too.
- Swimming is at your onw risk.
- The river is greatly. Try to use water shoes, because the stones are annoying and very slippery. Be careful with the current of the river and remember that there is not lifeguard around!
- One site of the cascades accepts dogs, the other site no!
- Come early and enjoy your day! ☀🍻❤👙🩳🕶

The place is really nice, good adult vibes. Not recommended for kids at all. Preferably to call an check if there is enough spots due to the covid 19 situation.

You should bring swimming suit and BBQ stuff to there! So much fun! Don’t forget to avoid weekends!

$12 per person with a car. Not sure if u can just walk/sneak in without bracelet ($12).

Great place for family picnics, or even time spent alone with a spouse, ever since I discovered this place it has become my number one chill spot in the summertime we celebrate our wedding anniversary there twice, we
always recommend friends to try it and the those who does loves it too much oùr #1 spot 👍👍

Always love to go there! It’s a nice place to enjoy a warm sunny day!! If the water is low you can swim pretty much anywhere and enjoy the sun. But if the current is strong and water high enjoying might be a little more reserved for rock chilling and sunbathing. Non the less it’s a very nice affordable place to go! Only 8$ per person no extra parking fees just to go to the falls!

Amazing beautiful place, you can spend the hall day and barbeque.
There is a small market and very clean toilets.
They supply the barbeques and you can buy the charcoal from there , and they sell wood for the bonfire to make it on designated areas , 🔥
The place is full of benches
There is an entrance fees for non residents of Rawden of 12 Canadian dollars for adults.
The place is well maintained and clean
It's better to go early in the morning to make sure you get a nice spot as it gets crowded later on the he day.
Personally I prefer weekdays over weekends, less crowded

Actually - These pictures were taken 6 years ago. Dreaming of summer, I decided to look at some beach pictures today and found these.

The "Les Chutes" don't change, however, since these pictures were taken a lot of man made stuff around the "Les Cascades" has changed.

The side we were on that day is no longer in use - It looked to me last summer as if that side was still under construction and being updated and that quite possibly this summer it will also be opened.

In the meantime, we were directed to the other side now. It looked as if restaurants and other entertainment has been added. The decor makes you feel that you could be in Honolulu!! Haha!!

They also have stand up Bar-B-Q's every where you go so you can bring your own food and cook it there (I would recommend buying your own grill to use on their Bar-B-Q's though)!

The white water rapids (falls) marks the beginning of Lake Pontbriand which is at the very end of Rawdon right before Chertzey!

It runs from there all the way to Darwin Falls which is situated immediately before entering Rawdon.

At the bottom of the rapids begins the very calm and very safe Pontbriand Lake. It seems to be almost the same depth throughout this long lake - 5-1/2 feet deep or so. It is very clear and so pleasant to swim in. As it is a moving Lake, there is not much growth to slow your swimming down and even a city slicker used to swimming in cement pools will have a great time swimming in this lake (no gucky weeds, or slithering lily pads or ....)! Haha!

Also, you can launch a boat, kayak or canoe. There is sort of an island in the middle of this lake and if you wish some privacy, bring your water vehicle over to this island and have some fun!

I love going here to get away from it all. the sound of the rapids and the view of the stars! Just let them know if you want a quite night or a party night there's separate sides of road! you can bring your kids if you like but I never do. just remember there's is rapids! great weekend for them too sleep at grandma's!
