Fable Diner

Brunch was very reasonably priced and good portions. The brioche French toast was yum!! Service was good. We didn’t need reservations for brunch on a weekend at around 1pm. Their fabled virgin and mimosa drinks were tasty. There’s not much free parking around but it’s only around $2/hr.

The atmosphere was really clean and gave off modern diner vibes! Nice place for brunch. I didn’t realize they had a trivia night and a boozy brunch! I’m curious what the price of boozy brunch would be but either way it was a good time. I also loved how they make their own hot sauces in house. I absolutely love hot sauce so was super excited to try it out. The green sauce was the spiciest while the red sauce was the mildest. I actually liked the yellow one the best which was right in the middle of spicy but had an interesting vinegar profile to it.

I had a great time and an excellent breakfast. The food was extremely good and a very large portion. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming and certainly covered any diners cravings.

The service was outstanding. Our server was genuinely friendly and ensured our dining needs were met. Our meals arrived
quickly and were piping hot.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is reminiscent of a classic diner with a modern/current vibe which perfectly captures both a bygone era and one of today.

It was an extremely enjoyable experience and one I would do again and again. Congratulations to all the staff.

Great food and atmosphere and our first time going here- our server Nicholas made the experience even more enjoyable! Excellent customer service from all the staff we interacted with but shoutout to him for going the extra mile 👍🏽 The milkshakes were our favourite, will definitely be back!!

Food was fresh and good, service was fast and the servers were very nice! Overall the atmosphere of the place and the workers make it a good place to eat as well as the quality of the food.

I’ve been going to Fable diner since before COVID and the staff and atmosphere are always great. The breakfast menu and milkshakes are a highlight. Also, anybody who is a Dirk Gently fan will recognize the interior from the finale of season 1 of the miniseries on Netflix.

Great and reasonable spot for breakfast! Coffee was really good, and the service was excellent! The “basic” breakfast was perfect and we appreciated being able to have avocado as a side option instead of meat. It seemed as though everyone else in the restaurant was having a milkshake so we are planning to return another day to give one a try! Recommended!

Tried for the first time. We were craving for burgers for a while and found this to be one of the good ones around. We tried Butter fried Chicken burger and Diner Double Loaded Burger. The first look at the portion was that we might not get filled but after finishing the whole meal. We were full.

Both of the burgers were delicious. I liked the Diner Double Loaded Burger more than the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger. Fries were also good and were fresh. Curbside pick was quick as someone was just waiting for us outside.

Went here again during pandemic... It was delicious and we felt the right precautions were being taken. Our waiter was a really friendly hunk... Which is never a bad thing.

Rosti are definitely worth the upgrade.

Thick cut pork belly bacon is excellent. I normally don't like home fries, but these are seasoned and cooked to be like french fries. Delicious!

I've been here twice and each time I found myself wondering why I don't come here more often. The food is always solid and the prohibition breakfast is an insanely great value. I'm in love with their milkshakes (especially the boozy ones) and their feature items. There is a bit of construction going on in the area, so I'd recommend planning for some delays.

This is one of my favourites for a reason. Definitely a great location for weekend brunch. There’s often a wait, but it’s worth it. The service is unparalleled. Staff are always friendly and their service is fast, and the entire team works together like a well oiled machine. Breakfast here are of such high quality using wonderful ingredients. You must try the bacon. The shakes are decadent and worth the calories. The burgers are diner style without the excessive grease. Bottomless coffee and and wonderful vibrant atmosphere makes this a place I’ll frequent often!

Delicious burger! Service was absolutely phenomenal, our server was Jory and he was upbeat and lovely! Atmosphere was great just wish it had been a tiny bit darker but not a big deal. Will be returning!

Always very busy but it's not hard to see why. Such good food and loads of different interesting options. When I was there the special was pork schnitzel Benny and it was absolutely delicious and last time I had their truckers breakfast and that didn't disappoint! You prob will wait as least twenty minutes but it's worth it it! It is accessible for wheelchairs but there isn't an awful lot of space between the tables. Not a lot of vegan options but vegetarians have a fair amount of choice!

Tried their new mac n' cheese bites and WOW it was incredible. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a solid, crumby crust and a dip that seemed like it was a chipotle mayo but not spicy (which I also enjoyed).
The pancakes were the main reason why we came so I got the Trucker's Breakfast that included the pancakes as well as a meat (I chose the sausage patty), 2 eggs, sourdough (I believe) toast, and potatoes which I upgraded to the Rosti. It isn't pretty to look at but don't worry, it was very good. The potato rosti I kinda liked but it's not something I'd necessarily say is a must to order.
The pancake did not disappoint. The reason I really wanted to try it is because the pancakes are made with cornmeal in the batter, giving it a slightly gritty (in a good way!) feel and a just different taste that I loved.
Fable is definitely on my list to try again, especially for the meatloaf and roasted duck pancakes that were featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Finally decided to try this out. Totally worth it. Probably some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. Prices are reasonable, service is excellent! One of the best breakfast places in Vancouver that I've tried.

Fantastic place for brunch / lunch with an Asian twist! I had the Roast duck pancake with a fried egg which was recommended by a friend and I enjoyed very much. The kimchi contrasted with the kewpie sauce & the crispy bits added crunch. Although it was only one pancake, I still found it very satisfying.
We waited 15 minutes to be seated and there was still line when we left so be ready to wait, but the tables seem to turnover relatively quickly. The staff were very friendly.
I would definitely visit again to try other menu items.

Great energetic vibes, super friendly staff, and best of all, amazing food!

I actually stopped by the previous night for a late dinner and immediately was sold on trying the ratatouille rigatoni from how enthusiastically my server recommended it. When I came back for a late lunch this afternoon, the hostess immediately recognized me by name despite a change of clothes and a mask on my face.

Blue cheese isn't for everyone and that's okay. Personally, I love the stuff enough to eat a bowl of it straight up. So when the Cobb salad came to my table with actual chunks of the stuff, I all but inhaled the whole bowl. No fake sprinkles of bacon bits either, every ingredient down to the corn and the croutons was hearty, substantial, and fresh.

One day, I'm going to succumb to the siren call of their buttermilk fried chicken burger and booze loaded milkshakes. And I'm more than okay with that. Until then, the Cobb salad and just the sound of the rest of the menu is enough to make me want to keep coming back.

I was on a timeline to get to an appointment and they were super awesome about it. Got to have a delicious breaky and a few cups of coffee to boot.

Really enjoyed the sausage & the really friendly wait staff. Will be back.

The "early riser" special made me feel like I'd woken up early and done something good. It runs from like 10-11? Recommend.

First time eating brunchfast here, and absolutely love it! We came at peak time ('round 2 pm), but managed to snag a table. Service: excellent (thank you, Jamie!), our 3 orders popped in in just 10 minutes. Atmosphere: cute & comfy, and clean, which is a plus! They had old music going on that really set the whole diner theme in motion. 😆 Price: Medium (pictures shown are all about $12) but totally worth it. Food quality: Well, I'm not giving it a 5/5 for nothing. It was great! 🍴 (Personally, my dad liked their coffee, plus it was refillable. 😁) Would definitely come here again to try their lunch and dinner options! 😋
