Dauphin Rail Museum

A great place to visit to learn the history of Dauphin and Canadian railway history

The staff were very hospitable and presented everything in a very knowledgeable and easy to understand way.

The railway model was very impressive and we had a great time enjoying the extraordinary detail put into it

Great little museum. Love the large model railway that they built - includes hilly regions and city areas - really well designed. Lots of historical information on the northern railway routes. We had a great time and would recommend stopping in if you are in the Dauphin area. Thanks

We had such wonderful and impressed moments at the Dauphin rail museum. Jason was so kind to guide and explain us everything about the history and the grow of the Dauphin rail history. Thank you soo much and we will take our impressions home to Germany:).

This museum is located in the same building as the via rail on the CNR rail line.

The museum is quite nice with a lot of small treasures linking Dauphin to its past.

The model train set is really well done.

You can spand as much or as little time there.

Excellent visit to a very nice museum attached to a functional rail station. The fellow at the museum is friendly and quite knowledgeable. Highly recommend for rail fans.

Incredible experience learning about the history of how Canada was built - by rail. The president of the museum personally showed us some of the exhibits, including a huge diorama of Dauphin with moving model trains! The kids loved it and I'd recommend this museum to everyone.

Great little museum that describes Dauphin's railway history through a collection of pictures, artifacts and other information. There is a wonderfully detailed model railway that shows Dauphin as it was in the 50s. As a bonus, it is situated in the city's historic railway station where VIA trains stop.

The museum is small but contains lot of interesting information about the history of rail in Manitoba. The staff member that was there when we visited was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable!

A large collection of railway memorabilia, very well-organized, and knowledgeable enthusiastic guides. The collection could use a larger space to showcase it better.

Wish the train were more viable in terms of timelines and this station is a gem. Just a sad reminder of what could have been in this country with rail 😤.
