Restaurant Le Bistro Montebello

We stopped by for lunch on our way to Quebec City. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. Not by the waitstaff, who were clearly busy and without much patience, but by the food which was such a level up from anything that we've tried in Ontario. A very generous steak lunch special, that was perfectly done and included fries, carrot soup for starter, coffee and dessert. The trout salad was great, as well. Onion soup was ok. Disregarding niceties, which you will not find here (unless you speak French, perhaps), this was a great experience and I would love to come back.

Amazing little restaurant with lots of places. Awesome hand made pizza, wood fired, super delicious. All menu items were excellent plus prices very reasonable. NOTE: Large dedicated parking lot is accross the street.
Beautiful historical area with many charming boutiques. Near the world famous Montebello hotel, a Unesco site.

First time in Montobello and this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We got the mushroom ravioli, which was a great portion and had an incredible sauce. We also got the steak & fries special, which included a leak soup, dessert and coffee for $22. We also appreciated that they were very accommodating with substituting a cherry sauce with a chocolate sauce for the dessert. The coffee wasn’t great, but we got a cappuccino and that was delicious. The only slight negative would be the service was a bit slow, but they were very busy so it’s understandable. We loved this restaurant so much that we’re planning to come back tomorrow for dinner. Highly recommend!

On our way back from Mont Tremblant, we stopped here for our dinner. The place is very packed on weekends, calling ahead to book a table is recommended.
The foods were amazing we had the duck leg and 4 cheese pizza. The portions were huge and the staff were friendly. However because of the crowd, things might get slow.
My only complain was that the tables were tiny and the place was slightly congested and the salad was a bit too sweet for my liking.

I'm from out of town and was waiting to pick someone up. I needed a place to eat, kill time and do some work.

I'm really happy that they gave me a spot with an outlet so I can plug my laptop and do work.

Had lots of coffee and water refills :)
French onion soup was amazing. Presentation was great.
Had the Reserve Lewis pizza and it was the best pizza I ever had.

If I'm ever in Montebello, this is the number one place I'd go to.

The food and staff was awesome!!

It was our 4th time in this restaurant and this place never disappoints. From their selection of food, wine & desserts everything is amazing. We ordered broccoli soup, mushroom ravioli & fries (coz I was craving potatoes..lol). One thing special about this place is they warm their homemade bread in oven while serving with soup and in that bread when you add it melts in your mouth. Also, we had macchiato & cream brûlée for dessert and it was perfectly caramelized top with lightly sweet custard inside. Great hospitality and service, can’t wait to be back again.

Decided to check out this restaurant for dinner based on reviews, overall service was great and the food was delicious! **NOTE they’re quite busy on weekends so it’s best to make a reservation or try off hours. Since we were a party of 2 we were able to be squeezed in between reservations but larger groups may have a more difficult time. Prices were definitely a bit more up there but still nice to try as a special treat or dinner celebration when you’re in the area.

The bavette de bison and cuisse de canard were delicious. Creamy blue cheese sauce worked perfectly with the bison and the veggies that came with it made it so that you wouldn’t get sick of the blue cheese flavour after a while (kind of like a palette cleanser). The duck dish was very flavourful and fell off the bone. Only thing about this dish was that it was relatively small for the price compared to the bison dish portions.

Sadly the calamari wasn’t a hit for us. The breading wasn’t the best (easily fell off when dipped in the sauce) and it was over cooked so a bit chewy. I would say I’ve definitely had much better calamari’s from other restaurants.

Was out for a fun ride, and stumbled upon this restaurant. Had their pizza,,,oh my yummy!!

We stayed up the road at Parc Omega and ventured here for dinner one night. They opened at 4pm and we had 4pm reservations but didn't get seated until closer to 415-420. Not a big deal, they were still getting set up and are obviously a very popular restaurant. Once seated, the staff was friendly and attentive. My wife got the butternut squash soup of the day, we shared mozzarella sticks, I got the Bistro Poutine and my son got their wood-fired vegetarian pizza. We were all more than happy with our meals, everything was delicious, flavorful and well portioned. Prices were a little on the higher side, but I'm ok with that when you're also getting quality tasting foods. Presentation was good as well. If we are back in town we will definitely be back.

There was a problem with reservations and we waited for half an hour past our reservation time but once we sat and ordered it was a great experience. Everything we ordered were great and very tasty. We took soup of the day ( veggies) ,onion soup , Shrimps, filet mignon, salmon, and pizza . Arugula salad was so delicious. All main dishes come with rise and veggies. Highly recommend.

Service was outstanding and food selection was great. We both had pizza and the quality was top notch. Quantity and flavour superb. Atmosphere in the outside area was cozy and you get to feel part of the motor cycles passing on the street. 👍

The food here is fantastic. I had cold smoked trout with blueberry confit as an appetizer and mushroom risotto in shallot cream sauce and Truffle oil as a main. Both were terrific.

Definitely make a reservation. We arrived Friday night at 7 without one and the available table was 8. It was worth the wait.

Stayed at the fairmont close by, decided to check out the town of Montebello and very happy we did.

Came on a Friday afternoon, quite a few tables and looked decently busy. We had the carpaccio and calamari salad. Carpaccio was fantastic, flavour bang on, the mushroom mayo that accompanied it was such a compliment to the whole dish. Calamari was seasoned incredibly well with the breading, reminded me of a fried chicken dredge (similar seasoning)

2 pizzas and a bunch of drinks we had a blast! So much so we had to change plans and come back on the next day for lunch before we left.

Piri piri octopus and foie gras poutine. Both amazing, flavours on everything we had was bang on, cooked perfectly, and not too long of a wait. Service was fantastic, kitchen staff should be proud of what they are accomplishing. Pizza guy was spinning pies effortlessly, was a joy to watch him work. Amazing all around, thank you to the whole staff for making our time so memorable .

This place will be the main reason for us driving a 7 hour trip again to come back!!

Definitely a place to visit for anyone passing by this magical small town! The food is perfect! Service with a HUGE smile and will definitely go back anytime I am here again!

Amazing place and food, good service as well. We ordered bbq chicken pizza and calamari as starter and they were so tasty, just make sure you make a reservation because the place is really busy.

Charming location, serving delicious plates, wine and cocktails. They stole my heart at the warm bread on the house, they brought to get us started. The pan-fried foie gras appetizer didn’t disappoint, as well as the Cod fillet main plate and the Mushroom Ravioli - all beyond expectations. The staff may need a bit more serving training but the kitchen is definitely run by professionals, which is what matters.
There is parking both next to the restaurant and across the street.
We will stop by again when we’re back in the area.
