The Dessert Plate

Wow. Just visiting and stopped for lunch. This was the best tuna sandwich I have ever had. I don’t know how they made it taste fresh instead of canned but absolutely amazing. I didn’t take a picture because it just looked like a regular tuna, but believe me, it’s not. The macrons are also outstanding. My only disappointment was the coffee, which I didn’t really like at all, but whatever, I would come back for the food any time I was in town!

Ordered a Ferraro Rocher cake for my spouses birthday, and it was massive! For an event of 5 people the cake weighed more than most toddlers, and we all got to enjoy for the week.

The cake was beautiful, tasted fantastic, and the service was great. Very good value here. I look forward to gaining 5lbs again from this place for our next celebration.

Went in to get a few treats for home while visiting Smith Falls. They have incredibly delicious treats, bought a chocolate-caramel-walnut cake, amazing scones, squares and more. I'll definitely return to get some more. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to Ottawa prices. Lovely comfortable interior as well. A great place to hang out and eat some baked goods, sandwiches and more. This is a gem like no other.

Absolutely perfect! This little shop makes outstanding treats with a great selection of gluten-free options. It’s a very clean, eloquent local shop. The portions are big and the prices are fantastic. It’s become our must stop every time we go to Smith Falls and that’s pretty regularly. Do yourself a favour and stop in! Enjoy a little coffee, lunch and dessert. You won’t regret it!

So many yummy selections- it’s hard to choose just one!
There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy a cuppa, and one (or two!) of their amazing desserts.
Service was fast, the owners were lovely and we will definitely be coming back.

We are regulars at the Dessert Plate and we enjoy the variety of baked goods. My standout favorite with coffee is their scones! They also on the odd occasion make a lemon poppyseed shortbread cookie that is truly amazing!
Also, I love their coffee. In my opinion, it is the only place in town to get a decent cup! The staff and owner are always super friendly, and the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. It is very high end food, without the stuffy atmosphere.
And for the quality and serving size you get, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. More than Tim Hortons for sure, but absolutely worth the small premium!!!
We will be long-term customers!!

Delicious, deep noted espresso and solid cinnamon roll!

Came in around 10.30am on a Saturday.

This is no Tim's run-of-the-mill slop. The espresso coffee has a deep, robust colour and flavour. The cinnamon roll is super dense and not overly sweet. The roll is too heavy to finish in one sitting and could easily be shared with another person as a filling snack. Tastes like a real, no nonsense baked treat!

The staff were nice overall but they seemed a bit uncomfortable with me. I'm unsure why, but was probably due to my bed head hair.

Very good experience and worth a visit!

Staff is friendly and patient on those days you just can't decide what the sweet tooth craves.

We went for a drive and were impressed with how lovely Smiths Falls has become. Good vibes and new businesses on Main Street including this lovely cafe and bakery. The Dessert Plate opened up in March 2023. Very good coffee and chai latte, a large selection of baked goods including scones, pretzels, sourdough baguette. I had the last remaining piece of carrot cake, my husband had a raspberry oat bar (unbeknownst and undetectable to us both, it was gluten free). Delicious! We’re told their butter tarts are to die for. Sold Wednesdays and gone pretty quickly. Cinnamon buns are another best-seller, available Thursdays & Saturdays. Sandwiches are on the menu, too. Super nice people behind the counter, clearly proud and passionate about their town and eatery. Thanks for having us!

My sister and I stopped into this delightful cafe for the first time today. We both ordered the turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich. It was fantastic and it came with a small bowl of chips on the side. I also ordered a butter tart square that we split, and it was delicious! Excellent quality for the price. The young lady at the cash was very pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was immaculately clean. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Cheers!

Love this place! I wish I did not love it soo much! Lol delicious pastries, cakes and other desserts. If you are going through Smiths Falls, take the time to stop here for a delicious coffee and dessert. You will not regret it! The staff is also very friendly!

Could be opened longer. Amazing staff and tasty food. Got a blueberry scone and turkey bacon sandwich and was not disappointed.

I found this gem recently and it is wonderful! The food is scrumptious, the staff are great and the decor is perfect for a relaxing break. This is a must for anyone wanting a quiet meal, or a coffee and treat. I came in on a last minute decision and when I left I knew I’d be back for lunch with my hubby another day. I’ll make this my go to place for some me time from now on.

This place is AMAZING!!!! If you haven't visited this place, you need too. The food is phenomenal, service is pleasant and the atmosphere is just the icing on the cake.

The treats were soooo delicious, had a date square which was huge and my daughter had the Carrot cake which appeared like 2 or 3 pcs. We shared both and there is still more Carrot cake. Generous portions, delicious and very friendly owners & staff.
A very homey little spot. A must try. ❤
