It was a limited offer steak and we got the last one. Honestly, I’m mad…because I know I’ll never be able to cook something this good.

Every dish was seasoned perfectly - the mushrooms and gem salad were like a punch in the face of flavour. The beignet potatoes…wow… so so so good, light, crispy. The steak (40$ for a 12oz) was a limited offer and was locally sourced and my goodness, I’ve never had wagyu, but I imagine that’s what it it’s like. Literally just melts in your mouth. Paired with a chimichurri and a dark jus, this hit on every level. Scallops were also delish.

We’re coming back, end of story

Warm and inviting atmosphere, cool decor in an intimate setting. Friendly staff. Food is amazing always. Elevated yet homey dishes. Something for everyone. The menu switches up a bit which is refreshing and these are dishes we would not normally make at home, feels totally worth it. This is a special spot.

Nice little restaurant. Beautifully prepared foods. Small inside but nice atmosphere. Small menu but great options. My only complaint limited options for wine by the glass. I get why but one more red and white option would have been nice.

The food at Juniper is incredible. Thoughtfully prepared, novel combinations made with very high quality ingredients. My boyfriend and I ordered the ricotta gnocchi, smoked ham hock croquette, and for dessert the creme caramel and chocolate puff. Everything was delicious, but the black truffle sausage in the gnocchi stole the show. Every other option on the menu seemed equally as enticing, so we will certainly be back!

I will also add that the decor was beautiful. Very charming, and I appreciated all of the nods in the decor to Juniper. Overall it was a lovely experience.

Juniper Food & Wine was our first restaurant stop on our two week road trip to Nova Scotia. It was absolutely incredible, a true delight for your taste buds. Each dish was carefully prepared and you could tell that all the ingredients used were fresh and locally sourced. We asked the waitress how many people were in the kitchen and she explained - Chef Jeff (Head Chef/owner) the sous chef and the dishwasher. They are a true force that will truly put Wolfville on the map. We went to many high end restaurants following our experience at Juniper food & wine and ALL of them fell short. My hats off to Chef Jeff, the kitchen staff and servers as they all really brought food and service to the table at a standard that is truly hard to find.

A considered dinner experience ready to continue pushing Wolfville forward. We sat on their intimate patio right on Main Street, which in the evening had quieted down considerably. We had the marinated olives, baked potato beignets, and hodgepodge, all as sharing plates, finishing with the creme caramel with poached rhubarb. Each were well portioned and delicious - the hodgepodge especially was rich and fresh in all the right ways. We drank a glass of their L’Acadie Vineyards sparkling, which was disappointingly the only local wine available by the glass. The menu was also less vegetable-forward than would have been expected when surrounded by such bountiful produce. It would have been difficult for a vegetarian to enjoy this menu. These would be my only two areas for improvement - the service was lovely, attentive but not doting. Will return.

In the Google system, most 5 star ratings don’t really mean 5/5. Juniper really is a 5 star restaurant. The dishes are perfectly curated. From the delicious focaccia with flavoured butter to the golden textured Patatas Bravas to the expertly dressed tuna tartare with the most delicious turnip we’ve ever tasted. Everything was spot on. What could be so special about a fried chicken sandwich? The brioche bun had spring to it. The chicken as high quality as you can find. We didn’t leave enough room for other mains but for dessert the cream puffs impressed us with their texture. The crème brûlée (not pictured) was well textbook with a delicious bit of white chocolate whipped cream and rhubarb jam.

The ambience itself was very nice and the style of the venue was obvious. Our host was responsive. Tasteful folk music played to set the mood of the Valley.

It’s funny. Sometimes you go to a restaurant with very high expectations and your left disappointed. We knew nothing of Juniper and the only thing that we could accuse it of is being too perfect.

Perfect, relaxed, uncluttered dining space indoors and out. Resevations accepted! I like that for DateDay planning. I appreciate when staff is knowledgeable about the menu to offer first time vistors the best choices that the chef is preparing that day. Loved the fun non- alcoholic cherry coke drink and pineapple italian spritzer. Artic char tacos were deliciously fresh with all the traditional yummy Mexican flavours of a classy fish taco done well. The fried chicken burger is full of crispy coating and juicy thigh meat - spicy as you like it ! Thank you for a delightful experience !

Amazing food ... friendly lovely patient staff with helping us decide what to order! The only thing I can think of for advice is the place was a little small and somewhat congested but was sooo worth the visit !

Amazing cute little spot in Wolfville. We enjoyed oysters from Sober Island, olives & focaccia, and shared a salad and gnocchi. The food was so fresh and delicious, especially loved the oysters. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, it's a really small little spot with simple decor and very cozy. We had an amazing time!

Update Jan 2024: we dined here last evening and it was still spectacular. The duck liver mousse was decadent and special. The char was perfect. My partner had the pork schnitzel and claimed it melted in his mouth …

Pretty fantastic lunch spot in Wolfville.
I’d say the best food I’ve had in NS in a while.
Highly recommend 👌🏽

Love it here. Amazing food without being pretentious! Had oysters, Fish Sando and a burger wars burger. Tried their signature cocktail. It was delightful!

First off, the service was fantastic! Friendly and knowledgeable, our server was a gem.

The food was amazing, I had the tacos which had an amazing spice rub and the scallops and boudain noir. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the boudain had a really nice soft texture and had a clove, nutmeg, Cinnamon type flavour profile which went really well with the beans and scallops.

For dessert the chocolate marquis was the perfect finish. Not too sweet, and the brown butter anglaise was perfectly balanced with the slightly bitter dark chocolate.

The Mrs. and I loved it and will be back!

The wife and I are enjoying our first date night in a very very long time. We were going to go someplace around the area because we live locally. I found this place doing a Google Search and the pictures that the other customers uploaded looked very delicious.

We decided to give it a try and let me tell you, it was absolutely phenomenal. Both my wife and I very much enjoyed our menu options. She had the daily special which was a pork chop and I had the steak. The steak was cooked to Perfection it was probably one of the best steaks that I've had in my entire life.

The price point was comparable to other eateries that we've been to both locally and around the province. I would definitely highly recommend this place. The only downside was they when we arrived we're not very busy but moments after we sat down more people piled in and service was a little on the slow side. It did take us a while to get our main dishes. Although the ambience of the establishment would kind of have the two of us sitting there conversing more and having a glass of wine but because I'm driving and she didn't feel like it we didn't have that experience.

The only thing my wife really didn't like so much was the amount of attention that we had at the table. My wife is one of those people who likes to have things put down and then have people kind of stay away so she can enjoy her food. It didn't bother me so much but to her it was a little uncomfortable. Other than that the experience was great and the kids saw the pictures of some of the burgers and sandwiches that they make so they want to go there someday during the week when school is over and have those enormous burgers

Beautiful minimalist ambiance. Everything tasted amazing, but the standout for me was the cured salmon + potato waffle. It was incredible.

Wonderful starters and main courses. I had the Cornish Hen roulade and my wife had the halibut. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters, very fresh. The only reason I give the food 4 stars instead of 5 is that the deserts left something to be desired. The creme caramel was way to sweet and the maple walnut tart was also not great, the crust was rather mushy. However, the main courses clearly shined and would easily go back again (but avoid desert!). Service was excellent.

My husband and I went out for a date night and we're so happy this was the place we chose! They had impeccable service with a ton of knowledge about wine pairing etc. The chicken burger was the best burger I've ever had. We had such a beautiful experience and will definitely be back!
