Breka Bakery & Café ( Main st)

Someone we know got a gift card for Breka, which is not near where she lives. We had no idea what the card was worth but we were in the vicinity today at lunch time. 1 Roasted Veggie Quinoa Salad $9 1 Apricot Chicken Salad Sandwich $9.25 1 small Dark Hot Chocolate $4.25 - very good value and only half of what was on the card! Very busy at noon, of course, but we found a table easily. The noise levels were very high. It was all very tasty - with the hot chocolate getting top marks. Very nice bathroom too. We looked longingly at all the cakes - and noted that their European Cheesecake cost about half what we paid for elsewhere. Good Value all round.

When we lived in Vancouver 10 years ago, walking distance from the Fraser and 49th location, which was the only Breka at that time we’ve loved coming to this café. Now that they’ve expanded, it appears that they doubled down and are offering more selections on food without sacrificing on quality. Now when we visit other bakeries/cafés, we compare them to Breka. Breka sets a high bar.
Lemon donut had a very nice soft texture donut, tangy lemon filling, good amount of glaze and coconut up top.
Caramel chocolate macchiato cake ticked all of the boxes, sweet, dark, crunchy layer, moist.
Moroccan soup was hearty and flavourful.

Stayed in Vancouver for 2 days and came both of those days. Absolutely love the atmosphere and selection available at this location & the customer service is superb. We enjoyed every item we ordered and especially liked the spinach and artichoke stuff and the desserts they offered. The place does get quite busy so you may not find seating but either way, great spot for brunch!

A wonderful neighbourhood bakery that has everything you’d imagine. The prices are incredible and really worth it. As a tourist I felt very welcome as the staff was super kind and very helpful. You’ll know it’s good because it always so busy. Amazing selection and do recommend as a must visit place!

Folks, urban history tells us that it is easier to ruin a bakery than it is to run a bakery. But with Breka, this inherent challenge seems non-existent. The ease at which this outfit is able to cater to each customer's whim, is able to produce consistent, quality baked goods at scale, and gracefully make the most common cookie seem special and fancy cakes seem accessible is their talent.

If this chain were responsible for most baked goods in North America, the people of North America would be the better for it.

Items Purchased:
Reuben Sandwich - I get these toasted. The Reuben does not quite fill me up when hungry, so you might have to order two.
Chocolate Chip Cookie -is really good if ordered earlier in the day, otherwise these tend to harded up approachin nighttime.
Apricot? Layer Cake - Nice light cake, Not too sweet
Lemon Shortbread Cookie - The Lemon shortbread has a nice tart lemon flavor on a thick cookie base.
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie - Only the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie was disappointing due to the cookie interior being too wet.
Butter Croissant - Good crumb but the butter flavor was simply ok.
Chicken Pot Pie - Okay. Nothing extraordinary

Sandwiches came in a box. I believe the cookies came in a brown paper bag, so did the croissant, I believe.

A staple in Vancouver and this location isn’t as busy as others. Usually come for the steak panini and always leave with a Dulce de Leche donut. It’s unbelievable they’re open 24/7, thank you! The panini is the go-to for me, definitely give them a try.

Divine food. Chicken pot pie is the best and so worth it for only CAD 7.50! Orange juice w/o sugar, natural for only CAD 2.50!
Lovely place. Just too noisy but just bring your earphones if you want to eat in and enjoy quietness.

I normally come here at 9pm and it's always busy. Breka has a reasonable standard of food, at reasonable prices but offered around the clock with a lot of variety. That in itself is impressive.

Breka is Vancouver's most iconic bakery chain. Not only do they serve some of the best pastries you can find in the city, they're open late. Above that, their staff is absolutely lovely and the management seems to know their processes well, because it's always busy but the lines moves fast. If you're hosting visitors or, if you are visiting, definitely come here at any time of the day because they have everything you need to wake up in the morning, or items to help you sober up after a big night out.

Tried Brekka for the first time today. Don't know why it took me so long. Had their London Fog donut which was perfect with its pillowy softness. I'll be back to try their other treats! Definitely on the top list for places to get donuts in Vancouver.

Good food,service and atmosphere.The cream puffs were world class as always .The shop was clean and the staff was friendly .The price for the food was reasonable given the high quality of food . I would recommend and drove out of my way to go to this location on my way to maple ridge as this is the closest location to the tri-cities. I would recommend and they should open up a shop in maple ridge as I would be a customer

My favorite Breka branch! Very spacious and with adequate number of seats. The staff are nice and accommodating. Pastry dishes and coffee selections are good as always!

This place has something for everyone. I'm so happy to see more stores opening, especially on the south side of Vancouver. The location on Main St has a two-hour free parking right in front of the bakery. But, the best part is the absolute divine, yummy, finger licking, melts in your mouth delicious panini, muffins, sandwiches, dessert, smoothies, hot drinks, and more!
It is very hard to choose from the wide selection of yumminess!
The staff are very friendly, the bakery is roomy and ideal for parents with little ones who need a bit of extra room for the strollers. There are hight chairs available, if your child needs one. Wheelchair accessible.
I wouldn't say that this place is ideal for a large group, as the tables are small and rounded, not ideal to make a big table out of little ones. Nevertheless, your food experience will be fantastic...I think!

I’m from Toronto and a friend recommended this as a cute 24 hour cafe. I really like this place! So many pastries and all absolutely delicious. I also got a grilled cheese and tuna melt which were also both good. I also love that it’s 24 hours so I can get my pastries fix any time!

I was looking in the local bakeries for a birthday cake for my daughter. But none of them would help me out. But when I came to Breka the immediate selection was awesome, the cake was delicious, the service was excellent (even though it was busy). The staff had offered to put a small message on the cake for free, right at the moment. Bravo. Thank you. 5 stars

This is one my favourite cafes in Vancouver. The pastries are fresh and the drinks are awesome. Everyone dipole visit. The cafe is open 24hours and is quite busy at all times of the day. There are only a few chairs and tables inside.
