Total Auto Service

I've been visiting Total Auto Service since last 1 year after my friend referred me here when I moved to Kitchener, I've always had a wonderful experience from setting up the apt to picking up my vehicle is always smooth without any hurdles. I've had no complaints at all. They don't overcharge customers and are honest, trusted. I highly recommend the place.

I've always been leary about taking my vehicle to a shop because it leaves you at their mercy (Canadian Tire once charged me $150 to tell me they couldn't figure out what my code was saying is wrong)

However, when I needed a solution to a problem I just could not solve, Total Auto Service made it as simple and pain free as it possibly could be. I went back again and they treated me even better.

The kind of customer service professionalism they exude is not seen anymore and I'm quite happy I chose to deal with them. They also respond quickly on the Google contact messaging which is an added bonus.

If you need to take your car for repairs, tune up, fluid changes, tires, go to Total and thank me later.

May 2, 2023 - Had issues again, and AGAIN Total was amazing got me diagnosed and provided a solution that I'll be using them to fix.

Very friendly, respectful, and professional people! They were very welcoming and understanding when our car broke down. Gave us a full report and offered solutions even though our engine was ceased and there was not much to be done. Highly recommend their service! :)

Mike, Erin, and staff run a tight shop! Always there with info, service and product as needed. And a puppy. I can trust them not to oversell or cut corners, to be straight up about what needs to be done and keeping it in my budget when possible (and being honest about ditching the car if that’s the best option - ouch). A 5 star thank you, and my continued business and trust! Well earned!!

I for one am a repeat customer; I am very particular with my cars, and I will accept nothing but the best. Total Auto Service has time and time again treated me fairly and always in a timely manner. I have serviced many different brands of cars with them, foreign and domestic. They have performed countless oil changes, tire changes, tire rotations, front end work, brakes, bearings, suspension, fluids etc. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they make recommendations that are reasonable, and they are always indicating what to look out for in the future. They have gone the extra mile on many occasions for me and my family. They are honest and trustworthy people and as a result never provide misinformation or make-work projects out of any vehicle I have ever had serviced there. I have been trusting my vehicles with them for four years now; they have never given me any reason to look elsewhere for vehicle service. If I could give them six stars I would.

I have been coming to Total Auto for a couple years now, getting my Mazda 3 serviced when needed. I have had them fix my broken sway bar linkages, replace seized brake calipers, replace a pooched speed sensor, change oil, change tires. I have never had a problem with the service they have provided; things got fixed and stayed fixed.

Their customer service (Margaret!) has always been polite and professional.

I recommend this place to friends and family.

The owner of this establishment is amazing. He worked on my car for free (when another shop quoted me $50). In gratitude, I booked an appointment for an alignment with him. However, my right front lower control arm malfunctioned, became loose, and now needs repairing. I had to reschedule with them TWO times because of this issue, yet the attendant at the phone was still polite, patient, and respectful to me. I really appreciate them for their customer service, honesty, and understanding. Needless to say, as soon as my control arm is replaced by the dealership, I will be coming for my alignment! If you’re in the waterloo area, you should definitely pay these guys a visit, it’s worth it.

I discovered Total Auto after having nightmarish experiences with other local mechanics. I've been using them now for close to 4 years and haven't looked back. I've even got my girlfriend going to them. I recently took my car In to get the breaks checked out, they looked at my car at not cost and gave me a quote which happened to be pretty high. I told them it'd be difficult for me to afford their price so the manager Erin worked with me to reduce the rate by about $400 so I agreed to get the work done. The work was completed very quickly and when I went to pick my car up, Erin told me that some of the parts they said I needed, it turned out I didn't need replaced, so she saved me another $400. I'm really happy with Total Auto. I find them honest and fair which is incredibly hard to come by when looking to get work done on one's car. I'd recommend to anyone. Thanks again guys!

These guys (and the front office gals who run the show) are top notch! Been using them for years and have put their skills to the test with a variety of issues. They always come through. They earned my trust early on and I confidently recommend them to neighbors and friends. They don't rush into throwing in expensive replacement parts that may or may not fix the issue. They figure out what's wrong and recommend what's needed before doing any work. Very reasonable pricing, professional, friendly and flexible with appointment scheduling. Excellent shop!

If I could give these guys 100 stars I would. Excellent and honest service EVERY TIME. I had a huge issue with Mr. Lube completely botching a tire swap and Total Auto was able to fit me in last minute and fix everything. I am always always super happy to have my car serviced here and their prices are very reasonable.

Just got my exhaust system replaced by Total Auto Service. I am pleased that they accommodated my vehicle the next day and seemed to do a great repair job. Great friendly service at the front desk and fair price for the work. I would recommend this shop!

After my first visit, I am pretty happy with the service. They were able to take my car with one day notice. Prices were good and they were reasonable (honest) on what has to be fixed. I will bring my car here again

My Honda accord had starting trouble yesterday, I knew it's probably my battery which needs replacement, and was pretty worried as it's sometime hard to find reliable and honest car service centers. Some shops rip you off telling that it's an alternator or starter issue.

I researched online and found this shop had good rating and reviews. I had my car jump started and drove down here for battery replacement and I was out in less than 1 hours time. I would definitely recommend this shop. The battery costed me about $146

Very happy with how they dealt with my car. I an a student with a car from Alberta, overall I was charged $240 including inspection fee. Definitely much better than the big companies, who wanted me to get $700 in repairs.

I went to one shop and they told me 3400 and I'll have to replace my entire suspension, came to total auto and they told me the real issue and the cost would be around $450. they didnt charge anything to check out my car and gave me total honesty. aside from being amazingly friendly they really dont BS you. Great people working there. I have definitely found my new and permanent mechanic!! thanks guys

I had my 2011 P71 Interceptor in for fluid changes and a non functioning drivers side door lock. I left the car with them with the instructions to check and change any fluids that needed it, and fix the door lock. This basically means that I left them with a blank cheque. They could have charged me for all kinds of stuff. My dad spoke highly of this shop so I thought I'd give them an honesty test.

And they passed with flying colors. They changed the engine oil (I knew it needed it) and said that all the other fluids checked out good. The drivers side door lock failure was caused by a simple broken rivet, which they fixed without question. They didn't try to tell me that a servo was bad or that it needed to be rewired something like that. I have a strong mechanical background but due to owning and operating my own business, I lack the time to service my vehicles.

As a business man, I can tell you that these guys know how to run a proper business. They are honest and want repeat customers. They aren't interested in screwing over every person who walks through the door, like most other repair shops would.

This is why I'm giving them 5 stars. Its very rare to find honest people who care these days. I'm extremely happy with the way they treated me. I will be back again for auto service in the future.

EDIT: (my second visit)

I had my sport car in for a full exhaust system swap. A rare 2020 Nissan 370z 50th anniversary edition (only 50 of these cars in all of Canada). Again they impressed me with there exceptional service. They allowed me to drop the exhaust off a week before install and stored it in there shop. In less then 1 hour, the car was ready to go. I had to ask twice if the bill was correct, I was expecting at least 5 times the cost. If google allowed me to review twice I'd be giving another 5 star rating.

Hands down the best repair shop in the tri-citys. (and I've been to alot of them)

I've been going to Total Auto Service for more than 10 years now. They have provided excellent service at great prices. They are the most honest Auto Repair shop I have ever found. I'm a very happy customer, and will continue to use them!!!

Great vehicle service! Mike and his staff are very knowledgeable, and they fix all of our vehicles (including our large cube-van) right the first time. We'll keep on going there for car service and advice.

Great shop to take your vehicles to. I have been taking my cars to them for the past 8 years. They always are very pleasent to work with. They are very honest and will not change any parts on your vehicle unless it is needed. I would reccomend them to anyone looking for a honest, reliable and friendly mechanic.
