Remac

Remac is easily the best corner store in the city. It is family owned and run, making it a gem in a time where there is a circle k on every block. The staff is extremely kind and I see the same man every time who works very long hours and what seems like everyday. Week after week, as the seasons change, the same man is there with a smile and a friendly conversation as he sorts loonies and quarters for me so that I can use the coin operated laundry machine in my student house. I see those in line before from all walks of life, whether construction workers or police officers, chatting away with him as if old friends catching up. Many days, I go in for something quick like more milk when I’m stressed and down from exams but am met with kindness that turns my day around. This shop is the very essence of a hard working family business that enriches the neighbourhood around it.

The owner is very friendly and always greets you with a big smile. It’s def a great convenience store and you can find all the basics here + grab a quick bite. Also the items are decently priced compared to other stores around Sandy Hill. And customer service is just top notch!!!

Very friendly staff, the owner and his wife are always super nice and welcoming, family business, they have very nice chicken Jamaican patties and veggie samosas that I always grab when I need a little bite, always fresh and warm. Overall a nice place, with great people and good customer service!

Great place to get pretty much anything you can expect from a convenience store! Plus, they serve hot food that’s I would call restaurant quality. Owners are very friendly and courteous. I usually travel 2X as far to go to these guys instead of a big chain convenience store - It’s always a no fuss experience and I actually enjoy going there. I also love supporting Ottawa businesses.

Always helpful. Good customer service and the person or the manager is very friendly. If you want something and need to confirm, just call the store and you will get the information right away. Always of great help. None of the items are overpriced as well.

this is an amazing store and the woman and man that work there are some of the nicest people i’ve ever met. they are always happy to help and make conversation with you. definitely recommend this place to uni students or if u need supplies or snacks.

This store has come a long way over the years. It has become welcoming and a place of community. The hours are dependable, the selection is extensive. They have hot food that is delicious. I have lived around the corner from this store for 5 years and it is the best it has ever been!! Congratulations!
