Starting with the great service staff, the food and the owner. We had an amazing time!

The meal was amazing and very flavorful. So many choices and great combinations, you really can't go wrong here. Follow that with some original desserts and you too will be won over like we were. (You have to try the smoked ice cream, there is nothing like it anywhere else.)

There is something here for everyone! The history alone is intriguing, and if that couldn't possibly be it... there is a late night menu that is amazing all on its own.

Parking can be tricky if it's busy, but you can park across the street so easy access from all sides being a corner lot.

We will definitely be coming back!!

The plank cut sweet potato fries were among the best sides ive ever had and everything else was phenomenal, will be back for sure

We enjoyed the sample platter for 2, it was very good & well priced for what we got.
Hotel has quite history as well which was very enjoyable to learn about.
Plus live music, which we enjoyed.

We took my father-in-law here last night and we were not disappointed! Love the platters, what a great way to try all this deliciousness!! Favourites were the chicken and ribs and that cornbread was amazing! Definitely going back again to try the rest of the menu. Also we had an awesome server. Well done Transit!!

The was our first time here and we enjoyed our visit a lot. Really tasty food, served quickly by super friendly staff, the owner, who visited every table, is a nice guy (with bad taste - politically lol ;) BBQ wise he's an amazing chef) and the place looks great. We heard a really laid back blues entertainer who played a very enjoyable eclectic set. All in all, this was a pretty great experience. It's a very family friendly place, we will be back.

We had the 5 meat platter with beans and sweet potatoes. So good really loved the ribs. Can't wait to go back. The service was amazing the waitress was so nice and the bonus was when the owner came over and talked bbq with us.

Holy smokes (pun intended), that was the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I am also not ashamed to admit I would drink the Cherry a chipotle barbecue sauce straight given the opportunity.
The vibe was also super friendly. Our waitress had a great pitch for the portion sizes of the platter. I think the owner also swung by to say hi, he was also very nice. I hope one day he gets the funds to fix up the hotel portion of the Transit so we can go upstairs and slip into a food coma!

Also, the blues musician playing tonight was superb! We were sad we arrived near the end of his set. Would love to see him play live again.

What you see is what you pay and their selection is ok.

It was bright and clean. Servicewas fast. Staff was friendly. In fact, the owner stopped by our table a couple of times to check in and thank us for coming. Food was very tasty. Smoked blueberry ice cream is a must try.

The new Smokehouse BBQ restaurant has some of the best BBQ in the city! Lovely renovated restaurant with historic ambiance. Great service and some of the best sauces I’ve ever had.

An establishment trying to make a difference...this building is over 100 years old... All that said
I respect their vision and will support them food or drink... Let's be Canadian.

Love the new look of the hotel, staff is friendly and attentive to all customers. The food is awesome. Cant wait to try everything on the menu 😋🤗

Well one of my fav spots being a brown man the clerks are very respectful and prices our fair they have a beer bottle exchange beer bottles only
