Safeway Kensington Burnaby

We love going to the Safeway for our groceries. It is a clean and well laid out store with nice staff. It can get busy,in the parking lot so just be forewarned as it is in a popular complex. We always look for any sales that we can find because it can be a bit pricey shopping at Safeway but sometimes we just find the quality can be better for certain items. There is a Lotto centre and a Starbucks inside as well. I believe this location also has a coin exchange machine, but please do not put me on that as I haven’t used it in a while.

Rave to Jen in floral! Yesterday she went above and beyond making me feel like a valued costumer. She took the time to wrap my flowers beautifully and make a genuine connection with me. She was kind, and outgoing. Jen made my day! This Safeway is my grocery store to shop at. Huge selection with all I need, clean, well organized and very friendly staff. A very convenient store with friendly courteous and helpful staff. This store is clean and stocked very well with a great variety of different brands and sorties. The aisles are very clean and spacious. Overall been coming here for many years and haven’t had a bad experience! Nice display pieces, they are very eye catching.

Big grocery, Tailstopia pet store, liquor store, shoppers drug mart, parkgate farm market, Cobbs, M&M, nail salon, medical clinic, eye glasses clinic, insurance, post office, white spot, bank, gas station, Starbucks.... Just about everything you need in one place and it's walkable.

I shop here often. Perfect for nearby tenants.

Just got out of Safeway with kimchi thanks to Michael and Matt. Walked through the entire store til I decided to ask for help before almost giving up. These guys were awesome and their customer service is very much appreciated.

Called looking for a certain bbq sauce I haven’t been able to find for months, and LISA at customer service literally walked to the isle and checked inventory and said they had 8 bottles. I drove 30 minutes and bought all 8!! I had called a few other stores and got the run around, but LISA went the extra mile!! Thank you so much for being a rockstar!!! Super happy 😃

Superb Customer service. Clean & friendly atmosphere. Well stocked shelves, good produce & Awsome product. Lots of friendly staff from Deli to bakery, Cashiers to floor staff all very friendly & helpful. I love to shop at Safeway even though the prices are high for my budget. All the deli foods are prepared fresh daily. The staff are very knowledgeable, & calm when dealing with the public. Recommend Safeway for shopping anytime.

I love the staff at this store. Even with all the changes in Safeway, it is nice some familiar faces were not moved from this community! The bakery is so clean, and stocked every time I come in. Right at the entrance, the bread smell fills my soul (and later stomach). The bakery manager is also pretty cute :) worth visiting the store to check him out any day!

The butcher counter at this Safeway is the best. They are always so helpful and friendly. Top notch customer service.

I went to go get flowers arranged early in the morning and no one was in the floral department yet. Anna helped me out (despite - I'm assuming not working in the department) and got them all beautifully wrapped for me. I've gotten flowers wrapped at Safeway (and other stores before) and usually it's a half baked job.

Anna went above and beyond, they were wrapped beautifully! I wanted to thank her (for making sure it got wrapped up so nicely for the occasion, and not simply with brown paper). I absolutely loved them! Thank you for being so courteous and going above and beyond!

Best decorated cakes at a reasonable price! Since a few months ago, I notice amazing decorations of the cake at the bakery section when I was buying a loaf of bread. I decided to order one for my daughter's birthday and placed an order. The day I picked it up, it was as I ordered but it was not fantastic as one on the display. I asked Nila who made a decoration to add some ribbons around the cake and she went above and beyond and make my daughter's cake so fancy despite my last-minute request. She was very accommodating and told me that she likes to make a cake with care just like she make one for her family and friends. Some people couldn't believe my cake was from Safeway. I know not all Safeway has this good of a cake decorator, and I appreciate she works in our neighborhood. My cake was 20pcs cupcake (10 vanilla, 10 chocolate) under $30. Where can I find this nice of the cake under $30 other than Safeway?!

I needed goat milk and asked a clerk who was nearby. Although it was busy, she took me to the shelf and showed the can of condensed goat milk to me with a smile. Always great to have a friendly service.

Wonderful clean store.

The General Manager, Chris is a great people person and an example of what a “lead by example” manager should look like. Had a small issue with a platter we had ordered through the deli, issue was resolved without question and very professionally. The other employees I spoke with were also very pleasant, professional and helpful from the deli department to deli manager, etc. This is a very well run Safeway and one I’ll look forward to coming back to. Thank you again for resolving this minor issue so professionally.

Love this store. A huge variety of supplies displayed. Good lighting and huge space to shop from and view products from. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and bread wins me over everytime I visit Safeway.

This is my local Safeway so I'm biased, but I always enjoy this location. The people are friendly and remember your name, the service is good. Sadly they changed their baking so it really declined in quality, as did their onion rings (also recently changed) but overall a good store.

Helpful staff, pleasant cashiers and checkout staff, great selection. Much better customer service experience than Burquitlam Safeway checkout
