I was thrilled when a Root Cellar moved into my neighbourhood. I
live near Cook St. Village so I shop there frequently, and although I thought I was going to be annoyed by being on their email list, to the contrary, I've been getting some amazing deals, and they've been inspiring recipes for me. I never saw this coming but I actually like their newsletters. They're beautiful, interesting and relevant. I also appreciate their hours being 8 AM to 8 PM. Very handy and easy to remember. Thanks for bringing this great shop into my hood.

I come here every Wednesday (on my way to visit grandma) and buy probably 95% of all my veggies and fruits. Produce is very fresh, and I love getting the Mid-week Wonders deals. I also like the smaller size of this Cook Street Village store, which allows me to get my shopping done very quickly and easily, especially if I am lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front of the store. Love the look outside and in!

I am so glad you are here, here in the Cook Street Village. It means I get to eat some of the vegetables that are grown on the farms in the Victoria region. (I don't own a car.) I enjoy buying vegetables which are packaged on the "scratch & dent" table, which are in good condition to be eaten soon. I'm amazed that more people don't make use of these offerings. The staff are also a large part of taking a walk to go shopping there; they are pleasant and willing to chat while we pay for the goods we select. It is nice to spend time there.

Wow, “The Root Cellar”. It just makes you feel happy. Fresh fruit and veggie, colours and smells and lots of organic and specialty items. You can fill any Christmas hamper or just munch on something for yourself. It’s so worth the visit.

Had to give a shout out to this store. Great selection and prices, especially in their Chop Shop meat section. Friendly staff also, this place makes Thriftys look very bad. Highly recommend.

Love this store so much I go the distance to shop there! Love everything about it and the staff lifts my spirits every time - even singing me happy birthday! Best grocery stop ever. Lots of parking too!

Went today for their grand opening! Absolutely lovely store with 1hr free parking in the back. Great high quality products including many local items. No coffee bar at this one as it’s a tad smaller then their other location. Great prices on veg & fruit. Nice layout. So happy too see another location open up close to home.

Excellent addition to the neighbourhood. The Root Cellar has spent the time and money to develop an excellent brand and store. I have never been in this location but to walk in and through the produce section was impressive. Very clean and well laid out area with a lot of selection. I stayed at the front of the store for this visit. We headed to the prepared foods and purchased a couple salads. Sweet potato, black bean, cheese, arugula (a few more items) was my choice for $9.99. There was enough for two really. A good range of selection. Set up to purchase items to take to the park or home. Worth a visit

Love having the Root Cellar in Cook Street Village! They have a huge assortment of fruit/veg, really great mid-week specials and super friendly staff.

Has crazy good sales. Free range/moral chicken is often less expensive than thrifties. Sales are crazy good. Get some super fresh high quality veggies and meats for cheap on sale! Other stuff cab be more expensive but is often quite nifty. Fantastic grocery store overall

Besides the good products at Root Cellar, I find the staff at the root cellar to be friendly and helpful. I was in a bit of a bind last week and Rose took the time to help me out . Much appreciated.

The prices here are slightly higher than other local stores, but they have an excellent selection of local meat and produce. I think locally sourced food is important, so it's worth it for me. The lighting and store setup are excellent and the staff is helpful and friendly. I really like that they save the cardboard boxes/trays and keep them next to the checkout so customers can use them to carry their groceries.

Love the new location and look. Great local products. The produce is fresh, clean and well priced.

They provide wonderful service to their customers. All the food, fruit, vegetables and products are high quality and the prices are definitely fair, sometimes the deals are great. Cashiers are friendly, efficient and absolutely amazing, especially Brian. Thank you Brian.
