Simon's NOFRILLS Vancouver

Best prices on the west side of Vancouver. Self checkouts are available so usually the lines for the regular checkouts are not long. The store size is not large but the selection of products is sufficient.

When I came in I saw this man with cross-shaped earrings and glasses in the Produce Department. He proceeded to greet me with the upmost respect, as when I asked him a question, he responded in a very professional manner. I do not know where he is now, but I hope he is having a great life.

This branch smaller than Safeway but still good prices on diary products veggies and frozen foods.
And always some discounts available like today's almond dark chocolate for 3.99.

When I first stepped into the store, I felt lost and confused. I came in to purchase a few groceries for the weekend when I quickly found myself lost in the produce section. I needed to find a few vegetables, and when I did I struggled to bag them (I am a senior citizen, and it can be tricky for me.) It was at this moment when a young man approached me, asking if I needed his help. I never got his name, but I remember him wearing a pair of glasses along with some cross-shaped earrings. He helped my bag my produce, helped me reach a few things out of my reach, and asked if I needed any assistance to bring me to the checkout section. He was very welcoming, kind, and demonstrated the core strengths of what a staff member should have. I hope that the next time I come here, I will be greeted with the same hospitality as this fine young man has given me.

The staff is extremely friendly. Especially the one employee in the produce section with the cross earrings. I wasn't able to get his name but he went above and beyond in helping me find everything I was looking for.

The guy with the cross earrings working in the produce department is really chill. His banana display was truly elegant in appearance, mesmerizing even! Makes my grocery shopping 10x better.

Underground car park is available, which is good for the wet season.

Shop is well maintained and well stocked.

Good local low priced store. They have added a larger produce area and specialty area. Look for sales on beef and pork. Staff is good tempered and friendly.

Easy parking by the door, found what we needed easily, not large for you to feel tired while shopping, they have a halal section

Simon's No Frills has been my go-to weekly grocery store for about 6 or 7 years now, and I've never been disappointed shopping here. I started visiting it when I was a student at UBC, and have continued to go out of my way to shop here to this day because of the value it provides. As a big guy who needs lots of food, I save about ~$60 per shop here compared to shopping at Safeway!

To many, the smaller store is a negative because of the limited selection; however, I see it as a positive as it forces me to stick to my list and not buy any 'frills' I don't need which keeps my bill down. PC and No Name are great value store brands, and I always find the produce to be very fresh and tasty. I wouldn't shop anywhere else!

Good place for groceries, prices are good, but place is a little bit small, so sometimes you won't find what you're looking for.

Great place to buy THE BASICS literally... They do have a lot of things for such a small store. But do not try to find special or specific things. They usually have a lot of bakery things half off because the shelf life is due in the following few days.
They still have a bit of everything for everyone, vegan, meat lover, frozen food, organic, so it's great.

As a UBC student, Simon's No Frills is my go to for all of my groceries and produce. They have a decent selection and very good prices that I can comfortably fit in my student budget. Anyone living on res can take the bus 4, 14, or 84 to quickly get to it (10-15 min depending on traffic).

Good place to shop for small items. Can save on some of the products. Fish is quite expensive, meat can be too if it's not on sale.
They only accept master card or visa debit card, cash too of course. Make sure to bring an appropriate payment method.
Lots of no name products. Quality is generally good. But you can always find more luxurious foods for higher prices. This place is for saving.
Location is good, parking right in front of the store, very convenient.
