Night Walk Tour

Had a great time exploring a path along the jungle in the dark! Definitely a unique experience and the guides clearly love their jobs and truly respect the wildlife.

Our guide was excellent. The group was not too big. We saw a coffee snake, moss stick bugs, a frog, bats, a scorpion, and more. No matter what you see it's fun to explore in the dark - you feel like a real adventurer.

A night-time treasure hunt in the private reserve above El Establo. We found loads of insects, animals, spiders, and frogs. This tour has great guides with sharp eyes who know what to look for. Some fascinating insects and spiders have regular habitats in this reserve, so you are guaranteed to see something amazing.

If you take the tour just after sunset, you might be treated to an incredible view of the peninsula and Gulf of Nicoya in the Pacific ocean.

Brilliant night tour by a very enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable guide! We saw poisonous snakes, frogs, birds, stick insects, and more, but the highlight for us was the tarantula. However, we stumbled upon an armadillo on the drive out! They didn't scrimp on time either as we were out for nearly 3 hours. The guides even take photos on their ohones as we're going round and send to you after. Would definitely recommend doing this whilst in Monteverde!

Rodolfo was a fantastic tour guide! Wasn’t sure what to expect from this night tour, but was provided a two hour, comprehensive and full discovery tour of all insects, reptiles, and animals in the forest of Monteverde. Outstanding! I would highly recommend as a part of your stay.

This guided night hike was awesome!! Our guide was so kind and knowledgeable about all the different creatures we spotted along the hike, we learned so much. If you are looking to have fun and get out and explore creatures in their natural habitat, this hike will not disappoint. We were lucky to have spotted a sloth, it was amazing watching it eat through the guide’s telescope lens. This was by far one of the coolest things we did while in Costa Rica!

Brilliant guide who was exceptionally knowledgeable and visibly excited by the wild life we saw. Incredible sunset followed by an amazing short walk through the forest trails. All the pictures are from that night!! And many animals that couldn’t be captured including a Olingo and Emerald Toucan.

Taking the Night Walk Tour in Monteverde with Leo was such a joy! His passion for nature is contagious. We saw insects, sleeping birds, frogs, snakes, even an Olingo. He knew so much about each thing we saw and the stories he told about them were memorable. One of the highlights of my trip to Costa Rica.

I really love this tour from the informative and enthusiastic guide to the beautiful trails in the forest. We saw many animals and the fact that it’s pitch dark and trying to find the animals with the torch light gave it that unique experience when we actually find something. This is my first experience during a night tour and I think without a doubt it is definitely the way to do it instead of the daytime tour. From now on a night time tour is all I crave for thanx guys.

We had a great experience at the night walk tour in Monteverde, we were able to see a very rare event, three different raccoon species on a single tree.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about all the species we met on our tour, we were able to see multiple different insects and mammals. Would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you want to get up close!

An absolutely awesome experience! Saw so many cool and interesting animals that are native to the area. Our guide was so knowledgeable, and that made the tour so much better. We attempted the night tour in June during a big storm and they were flexible with us rescheduling to the next night. The next night the weather was great and the tour started with the most amazing sunset we have ever seen. And although it was soggy we mostly stayed on paths that kept us from getting too muddy. Dauner, our guide, was incredible at finding various insects, frogs, birds, and a viper. He took multiple professional looking pictures that I was able to download the next night and gave me many tips on taking night pictures. This tour was well worth the money and I am glad we prioritized it in our schedule. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Good night tour from the team at El Establo Hotel. We weren't staying at the hotel so had to travel there ourselves but luckily we were staying nearby. The guide was really knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. It lasted around 1hr45 and we saw a Kinkajou, a tarantula, a glass belly frog, some other frogs, scorpions, and lots of insects. Was hoping to see lots more but overall it was a really nice experience.

It was so thrilling and amazing. We had a lot of fun seeing the creatures up close. Our guide was so engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommend it!

We loved the tour with Leo.
The animals and the service we got have been really worth the price! We even got photos after the tour wich Leo took.
The tour starts at a platform where you see the beautiful sunset if you’re lucky.
You have to know that you walk through the hotel property but there are great trails into the wild. Leo was an enthusiastic guide and spotted a lot. We were lucky to see an olingo. The tour was round about 2 1/2h so make sure to eat before :D

This night walk tour was very informative and fun! They have a great view of the city from the hill tops and the guides were very friendly. 10/10 would recommended this tour.
