Volcano Restaurant

Excellent food and great drinks. Atmosphere was nice with calming music playing and the most friendly dog named Pento that you will most definitely make friends with haha. Waiter David was amazing, excellent service. Overall this was the best restaurant experience of our 10 day Vacation in Costa Rica!

We loved this place! The food was excellent and our server Juan Luis was very friendly and helpful! I always have to eat patacones in Costa Rica and the ones here were amazing and incredibly filling!

We stumbled across this place and how happy we are to have done so!
The welcome we got from David was so warm and friendly (we also got a lovely welcome from Tinto the dog.)
We were invited to pick our own salad from his organic garden. The food was plentiful, tasty and beautifully presented as well as there being a good range of vegetarian options. . When we mentioned that it was one of our party's birthday, his dessert arrived with a candle and we were treated to a rendition of Happy Birthday from David and the young waiter.
Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We came to Volcano restaurant for lunch as an alternative to staying at our hotel resort. It was well worth the trip! David is a fantastic host. He took time to recommend several dishes from the menu. We went for the churrasco streaks for lunch. Before serving lunch, we were invited to pick our own salad ingredients from the organic garden out the back, which David then prepared as a delicious side salad for the meals, complete with passion fruit salad dressing. The steaks were flavourful and generous, served with fresh vegetables.

We liked the food so much that we returned for an evening meal the next day! Thanks David for the lovely food and hospitality.

Tried this place for lunch and so happy we did. Good cold beer and excellent food, overlooking a very pretty garden. David was an excellent host. Highly recommended!

We wanted to take a break from our luxury resort and enjoy some of the local atmosphere. Stopped here and had the marlin ceviche and rib eye steak. Both were prepared perfectly. We ate in the garden area under an arbor. Most excellent. David was most friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Had a Chifrijo (only served on weekends) and a passion fruit chicken dish with a salad. Both were very good. David's service was impeccable.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the steak churrascos, accompanying sides, and passion fruit cheesecake. The meat was local, the prices were fantastic, and visiting with the owner David very enjoyable. When he found out we were on our honeymoon he gave us a small gift in remembrance of the evening! Very delightful and hope to make it back soon.

Great find on the www and we had a great dinner.
The churrasco steak was perfect and real tender and tasty.
Local meat from grass feed cattle.
Nicely served and we enjoyed.
The owner gave us a lot of information and much appreciated. Some new insights of CR and we liked the flan offered from the house.

We stopped by on our way to Rinconcito Lodge for Lunch.
Well, let's start with the water: you feel the love by having a look at the tab water! Boild with flowers so the colour is pink. It's just a small detail but i have never seen this in any other restaurant on our 3 weeks trip through costa rica.
Then the spicy ceviche... The best ceviche I had during my time here in costa rica, and i had many ceviches (fish lover).
After that the service: David, you are such an amazong and lovely person! When you told us why your dog likes to stay with us you touched our hearts.
We totally recommend this place for lunch and i'm sure, dinner will be great too. Keep going on like this, it is just perfect the way you do it!

Deliciosa! We had the tomahawk steak, which was cooked perfectly and super well priced. Also the ceviche was very fresh. Juan Luis our server was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We had an amazing time at Volcano and server Juan and owner David were incredible hosts. I had the chicken fajitas and my wife had the traditional lunch with grilled chicken. Both were absolutely perfect. We started with the spicy ceviche which was the best we ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow what a great restaurant this is. Love the food. And the service is outstanding. Our son was ill and the owner helped us as much as possible. He even directed us to a docter. Many thanks we will never forget this. Lots of product coming from their own production so could not be more fresh.

What an amazing meal! Must try if your driving through the area. David is very accommodating and friend. Speaks English well and can help with any know how of the area. I had the Costa Rican Steak dish called "Churrasco" it's a must try, amazing flavors and the steak cooked just right. It's served with rosemary potatoes and grilled veggies. I cleaned the plate. He also recommend a smoothie that was mixed with fresh local pineapple and passion fruit and it was very refreshing and delicious! So glad a stumbled on this place. So far my best meal in Costa Rica. Such a fun night with the crew at volcano. Food was great and the staff were very welcoming.

Very gracious and helpful staff. The Ensalada Volcano was huge, full of vegies including palm hearts with a passionfruit dressing.
Delicious seafood soup. Probably the best I have had. Loaded with seafood. Love this local restaurant and bar.

Amazing experience:) the chef came outside grab my kids and had them pick vegetables from their Garden at the restaurant wash them together and together they made a salad that we literally picked from the garden at the restaurant. An amazing experience my kids will never forget it and I won't either literally farm to table but directly from the outside garden to table you would absolutely be nuts not to try this place 100% if you don't love it come and smack me in my face

The flan is absolutely wonderful! A must try.
