I, like many, was captivated by the beautiful pictures posted and wanted to get away for a holistic type retreat. Instead of finding peace, I felt extremely uncomfortable. I have traveled around the world and never have I felt such bad energy, in a home, as I did here. I feel the owner is more interested in make money than providing a positive, tranquil experience for those who visit. I ended up cutting my vacation short just to escape the negative vibrations. I took a huge financial loss especially to purchase an earlier flight home, but could not bring myself to ride out the last few days.

In talking with locals who are familiar with the area, they said there has been a darkness to the place and are weary of the owners, even to the point there has been physical altercations amongst locals and one of the owners. They more specifically said it was evil and they stay away from the area. I understand everyone has different beliefs... but in talking with various Shaman and holistic healers, from different areas around the world, we have all come to the conclusion that the owners are not on the up and up, I think they are just business people who know that spirituality and holistic retreats are appealing to many people right now and a good way to make money.

I would suggest finding another place to go if you are looking for a nice, peaceful place to relax for a few days. When I returned home and did more research so that I could compare notes with other people, I noticed in the videos that Elena (the owner) is focused on making money and nothing more. I was polite and did not leave on bad terms but in truth I was very disappointed. My Cousin who planned his honeymoon down there has also chosen to cancel it after I told him about some of the things I experienced. If you are going to spend good money to have a nice vacation, make sure you really do some research.

I would not recommend Finca Amanecer for people who are looking for a peaceful retreat. I would typically never leave such a negative comment but there is something about the place and the owners that made my skin crawl. I am interested to see what other visitors have to say about the place. I mean actual visitors, not friends of the owners. Do not let the pictures deceive you...
