Bottom line is, apparently in Costa Rica you have to buy most over-the-counter medicines at a pharmacy. They don't carry them at the markets. They had Viagra over-the-counter for $100 🤣

As mentioned in other reviews I moved to Costa Rica specifically because of the quality of medical care available in this country. So bear in mind that this review is written from the point of view of someone with a continuing relationship with the people of Manuel Antonio, and not that of a tourist with one single interaction with the pharmacy. The pharmacist and staff here consistently go above and beyond in order to help me, not only with my questions, but with procuring medications quickly and making recommendations. It still boggles my mind that I can contact these folks via WhatsApp whenever I have a question or concern. They are knowledgeable, helpful, kind, compassionate and caring and I consider myself enormously fortunate to be in their care.

We came looking for a few specific medications and the pharmacist was very helpful. Prices were good - cheaper than we would have paid for the same medications in the US.

Pharmacist spoke fluent English. They delivered the medication to my hotel within 10 minutes and explained everything, very knowledgeable.

Came in here to get some sea sickness meds for an upcoming boat cruise , he was very helpful and gave me a good price . And the pills he gave me prevented seasickness and wasn't the drowsy kind.

Lady at the counter was very helpful, she contacted the doctor immediately to ask my questions.

Staff was fluent in English and very accommodating for some traveling Canadians. Very helpful in recommending a cream/gel to help with a rash from a poisonous plant and jellyfish sting.

Amazing service, put us at ease and provided all the solutions we needed. Thank you!

Be careful... rip-off. They’ll charge you wild amounts. Better to go down the hill to a more honest pharmacy.
