Absolutely spectacular boutique resort! I came here for a trip with my sister and we stayed in villa #2. The villa was so spacious and incredibly comfortable - the pictures really don’t do it justice! The views throughout the resort are breathtaking and we saw so much wildlife! While there are many excursions to choose from, my sister and I had a hard time wanting to leave the beautiful grounds of Los Altos. The pool is gorgeous and the staff were all so kind to us throughout our stay. Our butler, Andrey, was especially accommodating. He always ensured that we had what we needed. He made reservations for us, scheduled cleaning and Turndown service at convenient times, was always willing to give us a ride up to the main pool area, and he even coordinated a last minute additional night for us when our flight was changed. I could go on forever about how truly fantastic our stay was here. I seldom repeat vacation destinations, but I can confidently say that I will be back to Los Altos!!

My only feedback for the resort (only because I know the villas just recently opened!) would be to add some hooks for wet towels and bathing suits in the villas :)

Los Altos offered a perfect family vacation adventure. Spacious, well appointed rooms and a perfect pool for happy hour with Costa Rica nature. We saw as many sloths, monkeys, macaws and other wildlife at the pool on property as we did out exploring the country. And we saw a ton! Friendly staff and very good culinary offering with close proximity to other great local restaurants. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful resort with views galore and lots of nature & animals all around the property. We stayed in the newly developed Townhouse #1. Service was on point at the villa as well as at the private beach, pool and the restaurant. Shuttle service within the resort was superb except when needing to go out as that is limited and no exception to that was afforded. Highly recommend this resort for couples, families etc.

Excellent property in the middle of Manuel Antonio.
The food was excellent. We saw so many beautiful birds, a sloth and many monkeys. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We had the condo with 3 rooms. Very roomy and perfect for a family.

We only stayed at this property for 2 nights. Wished we had stayed a little longer. You will not want to book excursions if you’re staying here bc the property is too nice to leave for an entire day. We actually cancelled our day long excursion bc we had to leave so early and wouldn’t return until late.
We had a great beach day at the hotel. The beach is beautiful but a little rocky. Still very pleasant waves.

There also some great little stores and restaurants within walking distance of Los Altos.

Def recommend this hotel!

We loved our stay at Los Altos. We went during the holidays and you would never know it should be a busy week. Always had a spot at the pool, chairs were set up at the beach and restaurant was never a problem. The rooms were huge! My kids loved the game room with ping pong, pool and fusbol. It was easy to get around Manual Antonio but had a nice oasis when we got back to the resort! We would not hesitate to go back!

The setting is absolutely amazing. Nestled in the forest, with incredible views. We went for our honeymoon, and stayed in a townhouse. Two levels, with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The service was good, the amenities were exceptional, and it was very romantic. The infinity pool looking out over the ocean was amazing. Close to adventure (Zipline, ATV tours, waterfalls, etc. and Manuel Antonio national park, which is one of the best places in all of Costa Rica to see wildlife. Bats, iguanas, birds, sloths, howler and white-faced capuchin monkeys, and more.) The setting of the hotel alone makes it one of the most incredible places I have ever been, and to be able to share it with my beautiful wife was an experience of a lifetime.

This was our first time to Costa Rica (we have been to Mexico, Belize..) so we are staying in 3 different parts of the island. By far Los Altos was a FANTASTIC property. The room was a 3 bedroom suite with 3 bathrooms with a large kitchen, balconies in each bedroom, and a large living room area with a nice sectional couch and large flat screen. A few things that really stood out- the staff. I'm not just saying this- rather than being re-active they were PROACTIVE in a very helpful way about everything from asking what time if/when we wanted turn down (which we never needed as housekeeping did such a great job) to letting us know a driver was waiting for us, anticipating what we may need (Ie. Without asking "Mr. Noble I see you have an 8am pick up tomorrow for an excursion to the Manuel Antonio National Park, would you like us to deliver a to go breakfast to your room?" Four Seasons type service... The infinity pool is gorgeous, the grounds are gorgeous.. we had a great time. Extremely safe as well. And we spotted a sloth and monkeys on the property. The entire front desk staff was great- David particularly went above and beyond in kindness, service, and speedy reactiveness to any query we had. I highly recommend this property. FYI there is a small but ample grocery store super close to the hotel, a pharmacy, a bank with an ATM that lets you choose colones or US dollars, and plenty of restaurants. Last tip- if you like sweet- get the French toast for breakfast.. we had it every day (My son actually asked if I could make it at home)... I know this review sounds utopian but it is all accurate. The only snag we had was a broken dresser drawer which was fixed immediately.

I highly recommend!!

Such a great place to stay! Saw squirrel monkeys jump across my path first morning. Super cool and friendly staff that always enjoy pointing out wildlife on the property. Definitely will return. Pura Vida!

Absolutely beautiful resort, amazing staff and rooms. The room was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views of the ocean and the private pool and beach were a huge plus. Central location close to a lot of great restaurants and beaches as well as manuel antonio national park.

Excellent resort. The views are amazing, and we saw wildlife daily. From macaws to sloths and toucans. The pool and grounds never felt overly-crowded. The beach was nice and relaxing, although rocky. However, there are other beaches nearby. There is a complimentary shuttle to the onsite beach as well as the public beach nearby. The food on property was great. The property is in a very walkable location to restaurants and shops. Our two school aged children had a great time as well.

If you do not enjoy your time at this resort I can tell you that YOU are the problem, not the resort.

We stayed in the brand new Town Homes (because they are child free and we prefer less noise). The views from the two story room are breath taking. Wake up to the sounds of the jungle animals and watch the fishing vessels stream from the marina out to the day's fishing grounds from your private plunge pool or upstairs viewing deck while you enjoy your coffee. If you have a chance to see this building from the ocean it is a stunning building that pops out of the jungle greenery!

If you don't feel inclined to walk anywhere the staff will pick you up and drive you anywhere on the property. The walk up the hill isn't that bad however, and the walk down to the beach is a nice stroll (take the transport back up).

The beach was nice and secluded. It is shared with the resort next door however each have their own private areas. The beach isn't a "beach club" vibe, there are a fair amount of rocks but show up at low tide and you have a pretty killer experience. Arrive at high tide and watch the waves break at the shore line. Spent two days int eh shade here reading...it's not a "kid friendly" beach so it is perfect for some quite afternoons in paradise. If you want a kids beach you can head to Manuel Antonio beach.

There is a great FREE walking tour on property. We saw a sloth, too many monkeys to count, some tucans and macaws.

The restaurant and pool bar serve pretty good food and drinks. If you prefer to venture off property there are many good options in walking distance (indian, thai, sushi all within less than 5 min walking).

Location to the Manuel Antonio park is approx 8 min driving. The hotel contracts with all of the best guides and tours in the area. You can arrange these things all on your own or book through the hotel.

The only room for real improvement is speed of service...they embrace Tico Time which can be a little frustrating for those who prefer to be waited on hand and foot like clockwork. Restaurant service was the slowest (we waited 1 hr for breakfast and it was not busy) but hey...your on vacation, grab a drink unwind and try not being so uptight lol

Los Altos is the absolute perfect place for families or romantic getaways. The location is very ideal and convenient to everything. Monkeys and other wildlife can be seen from within the resort. The staff is friendly and most helpful and you can expect pleasant surprises from them during your stay. Spacious doesn't even begin to describe the accommodations. The elevator opens directly into your room which no one else can access but you, for the ultimate convenience.

Los Altos created the perfect experience for our family. There are sloths, monkeys, macaws right on property. There is a private beach and we loved playing in the waves and exploring the tide pools. They set up private chairs and umbrellas for you. The pool overlooks the beach and jungle and our room was spacious, with a full kitchen and seating area (perfect for movie nights), air conditioning, and private balconies that span the length of the main room, main bedroom, and other rooms. We had beach and jungle views! The restaurant is delicious! They offer free breakfast (not your usual free breakfast- it's a full on breakfast menu) with fresh juice from local fruits each morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. They shuttle you to the private beach just a couple minutes through the jungle and come and pick you up when you're ready! There is a large game room. The location is close to Manuel Antonio National Park, lots of restaurants. I loved our experience here. The resort has private hiking trails with a hanging bridge and platform right in the jungle. There are yoga and cooking classes (empanadas- yummy!) I only wish we didn't have to leave!

The Los Altos Resort is a hidden gem! The resort is gorgeous—it has a private beach, an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and plenty of opportunities to spot sloths, birds and monkeys.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure had a great stay. The apartment was huge and beautiful - more than enough space for our family of five - with three levels, a hot tub, and a beautiful view of the ocean.

The food at the Los Altos Resort was delicious! We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

We had a wonderful experience at the Los Altos Resort and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay in Costa Rica.

This resort was beautiful. We stayed I. The rainforest suite which had 3 bedrooms and 3 different balconies. It was very large and comfortable. Our fridge was stocked with free snacks and some drinks. The service was great. They only have one restaurant but we enjoyed it each time we went. The jungle trails were fun to explore. We enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife and the nearby beach. The infinity pool has a great view and the service was great. We would definitely stay again.

Overall a very good experience. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are all very friendly and speak enough English. The front desk especially helped us book each one of our trips and they were all awesome. The location however is the best. We saw macaws from our balcony and heard howler monkeys almost every morning at breakfast. The jungle surrounds the hotel, with lots of opportunities to see the plants and animals. The location in the town however is great, because it allowed us to walk to many restaurants to get dinner each night. 10/10 would recommend this hotel and have nothing negative to say about it.

Most AMAZING place to take your family! Rooms are super spacious and very comfortable for a group. The food at Karolas (hotel restaurant) is to die for and the private beach is EVERYTHING! We’ve been back 7 times now and my hubby took his whole company for an incentive trip.
We absolutely LOVE the staff and hope to be able to see our friends again this Christmas!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ❤

Right in the downtown Manuel Antonio area this luxury property is very good. Rooms were very good, spacious, staff was great. They have beach access from their property although the beach is very rocky. Their restaurant was almost all the time under staffed esp the kitchen. So give yourself 20min at least after ordering to get the food. & If the restaurant has 3-4+ tables already seated then at least 30min. Great views of the Pacific from the rooms & restaurant. Walking distance to everything.
