Chapel of the Guardian Angels

Outside and inside, the impressive two-storey chapel of the Guardian Angels is the oldest object of the Zlatá Koruna Abbey. The creation dates back to the 1st quarter of the 14th century or to the mid-14th century. It is commemorated for the first time in written sources in 1387, and at first seemed to serve as a hospital church. Today you can visit it as part of one of two tour circuits. Approximately half an hour's guided tour takes place only in the Czech language, but English, French, Dutch, Italian, Hungarian, German, Polish, Russian and Spanish texts can be lent.

Z vnějšku i zevnitř působivá dvoupodlažní kaple Andělů strážných je nejstarší stavbou zlatokorunského opatství. Vznik je datován do 1. čtvrtiny 14. století nebo až k polovině 14. století. Poprvé je v písemných pramenech připomínána roku 1387 a zpočátku sloužila zřejmě coby špitální kostel. Dnes ji můžete navštívit v rámci jednoho ze dvou prohlídkových okruhů. Přibližně půlhodinová prohlídka (pouze s průvodcem) probíhá jen v českém jazyce, je však možno zapůjčení anglických, francouzských, holandských, italských, maďarských, německých, polských, ruských a španělských textů.

The fact this is a former chapel. Essentially it was for a long time a two-floored living house. And for an other time it was a waste place. So the building has loose it's beauty with a time, but it is partially restored now. The chirch still looks quite interesting taking in account it's history.
