My grandparents used to live on the property to the west of this place. As a kid, I always wanted to go inside but grandpa was against it, mainly because he got completely wasted here for the first and last time, a bit after WW2. This made the place evil in his eyes but nothing could be further from the truth.

I finally got the chance to visit this pub one time in 2000-something, and all I remember is the beer was great, the people were awesome and my drunk stumbling back home was fortunately only a few dozen meters, otherwise I may have ended up in a ditch.

Glad to see it's still operating and hope it'll survive for another century or three.
