Kostel svatého Vendelína

Kaple zasvěcená svatému Josefu vznikla v Perštejně už roku 1724. Dal ji vystavět majitel panské papírny Josef Hergl. V závěru 18. století však kaple již nestačila zvyšujícímu se počtu věřících, a tak byl v Perštejně roku 1788 postaven prozatímní dřevěný kostelík u cesty do Údolíčka. Hrozilo však jeho zřícení, proto byl roku 1797 vysvěcen nový kostel, zasvěcený sv. Vendelínovi. Základní kámen byl položen dne 11. 10. 1795 a byl osazen ve zdi za hlavním oltářem. V roce 1796 byl již nový zděný kostel hotov. Slavnostní vysvěcení kostela proběhlo následujícího roku. Po druhé světové válce kostel chátral, v polovině 60. let 20. století byla střecha v havarijním stavu. Část stropu se zřítila do chrámového prostoru. Oprava byla provedena až v roce 1972. Kostel poté sloužil jako skladiště. V 80. letech 20. století zvažovalo jeho zbourání, pro nedostatek financí však k demolici nedošlo. V roce 1996 založila obec Perštejn společnost, která v následujících letech zorganizovala opravu kostela.

The chapel dedicated to St. Joseph was founded in Perštejn already in 1724. It was built by the owner of the paper mill Josef Hergl. At the end of the 18th century, however, the chapel was not enough for the increasing number of believers, and so in 1788 Perštejn was built a temporary wooden church on the way to Údolíček. However, its collapse threatened, so in 1797 a new church was consecrated to St. Vendelín. The foundation stone was laid on 11. 10. 1795 and was set in the wall behind the main altar. In 1796 the new brick church was finished. The consecration of the church took place the following year. After World War II, the church fell into disrepair, and in the mid-1960s the roof was in very poor state. Part of the ceiling collapsed into the temple space. The repair was carried out in 1972. Then the church then served as a warehouse. In the 1980s the Perštejn administration was considering its demolition, but that didn´t happen due to lack of funding. In 1996, the municipality of Perštejn founded a company that in the following years organized the repair of the church.
