Ostrava Zoo

This zoo is huge, we spent 5 hours here. So much greenery, most of the time it felt as if walking in a forrest. Loved the red pandas. Would definitely recommend to visit.
Lots of playgrounds for the kids, benches and water fountains everywhere. There are also lots of zoo maps along the pathways.
You can save some time at the cashier by buying online tickets - they will scan the at the gate.
Bus 104 goes to the zoo from the center, very easy to get there also by car, they have a large parking lot (i think it is paid).

A very nice and large zoo. Lots of trees, so the heat is not a problem. You can see here a beautiful and diverse plants and lots of animals and birds. A very good place for a weekend getaway. Ticket prices are okey. Parking at the zoo is paid.

Great place to visit: either with kids, the whole family or just by yourself. Plenty to see and to explore . One day it's not enough and I will definitely come back to see some stuff I was not able to check on my day of the visit. Apart from all the exotic animals and environment there is a playground for kids to have some fun and plenty of places to sit down and rest too. A lot of shops with food and drinks around the whole zoo. If you have never been here and you are around it is worth your time. Generally great place !

What an amazing zoo! We went in the snow and it was so beautiful. It was like we hired it for the day ourselves. Lots of amazing animals that we didn't expect to see such as hippos and leopards. Some great play areas for the kids and some food and drinks stalls and vending machines dotted around the area. The hot chocolate in the machine by the entrance was also delicious. 10/10!

In my view "garden with animals" would convey the experience which you get. Take the picking package and you will experience even more.
Brilliant spot for the whole day with friends or family. If you desire time for yourself you will also find parts of the garden quiet and private.

Nice place to walk with the family and kids. You can observe different kinds of animals and birds, buy something to eat or drink. There are playgrounds for kids all along the way.

This is the greatest place where we bean. It takes one or two days to looked up. I recommendet with two hands.

Fantastic place for spending few Hours during weekend. Great variety of animals in beautifully arranged displays and green areas. Playgrounds and shaded areas are giving a break time during sightseeing. Some restaurants and snack bars (expensive). Greatly recommend for families.

Beautiful zoo well maintainted, plenty of children entertainment and other food drinks and toilet amenities. Really cheap compared to other places. Highly recommended. Spent over 5 hrsbat the zoo. The only downside is the parking which seems ample but on busy days you might struggle to find space.

Cheap price for a zoo of this size. Nice walk around, a lot of different animals to look at. The zoo is well decorated and has a nice atmosphere

Ostrava Zoo is a fantastic destination for animal lovers. The diverse collection of animals is impressive, and the enclosures are well-maintained. It's a great place for a family outing, and the interactive exhibits provide educational opportunities for all ages. The only downside is that it can get crowded during peak hours, so visiting during quieter times is recommended for a more peaceful experience.

Very big ZOO, the best I've ever seen. A lot of attractions, good and close view to lot of animals. Really nice "green areas" and a lot of places where you can rest during visit. Available water dispensers. Comfortable parking.

Great and pretty big zoo, with parts to have a little quiet walking. A lots of animals, flowers, trees etc, restaurants. Also lots of educational signs with texts in Czech, English and Polish.

One of the greatest Zoos I have ever visited. There's a lot of events for kids and adults. The Lemur island is really great.

They have elephants, lions, zebras and a lot more.

It's quite near from the Polish border so I recommend to visit it in your free time.

Ostrava Zoo founded in 1951.
Very big place, they have around 350+ different animals, birds , reptiles included.
Ticket Price - 110 czk (4€)
Timing - 9-5
Time required to visit - minimum 4 hours. Usually people spend whoel day here
Best time to visit - Spring and summer (April to September)
Place is wheelchair accessible and allows kids trams as well but you have to inform at ticket counter.
They accept card and ATM machine is also there mext to ticket window.
Transport - Bus number 104 and 111 goes to Zoo from city and tickets costs around 16-50 czk depends on travel time and distance.
We were indian group went there in month of April 2018.
They have many new palces build new children paly area.
This place is very big have big palces for animals.
-lakes ponds restaurant all inside.
At many places they have open fence where kids and go and play with animal.
They have newly designed children paly area very big.
Important part I love about zoo is most of places they put lot of information on animals so children and adults can learn about it.
They have a stall where they have dead animals as well to touch and have look. They told you about them.
Open cages for birds.
Park has animals from around the world.
I really appreciate Park management as they try to give natural feel to all animals, big cages, different lights according to there requirment.
Most of places have flowing water and feel of jungle.

My favorite zoo. Definitely worth to visit, enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and get a lots of interesting information. Huge amount of animals and plants to see as well as great drink and food option makes it great place for spending a day. Even more days :)
