Karel Zeman, a prominent Czech film director, artist, production designer, and animator from the 1940s and 1950s, left an indelible mark on the cinematic world. This museum vividly illustrated his immense creativity and demonstrated how he crafted numerous fantasy films in an era devoid of today's CGI technology.
As movie lovers, my family and I relished our visit to the museum. It boasted a lot of interactive exhibits, offering a glimpse into the intricate process of film creation during the 1940s. Zeman's innovative ideas not only captivated audiences of his time but also served as a wellspring of inspiration for countless producers and directors, contributing to the wealth of exceptional movies we enjoy today.
Although the museum itself may not have been expansive, its significance was huge. The wealth of information presented underscored the enduring impact of Karel Zeman's contributions to the cinematic landscape.

A fun-tastic museum. So glad I found this gem. Personally learned a lot about fantasy special effects. Also about the Fabulous World of Jules Verne, and Baron Munchausen.
Not overly expensive to enter and making sure you have your family and friends with you and use the camera on your phone at every opportunity.

Very nice small private museum. Unlike, the other private museums that feel like tourist traps this one is not it. We enjoyed the detailed history of the movie making process for Karel Zeman. After we left we looked up a few of his movies and watched one that night. Very nice museum.

This place is simply amazing and for sure I will visit it again next time în Prague. I felt like a kid at the science class, discovering all sort of machines, tehniques, and trying them. I also enjoyed the posibility of watching scenes from the movies, wich helped me to have a better image of every thing I've seen here.

So glad we visited this museum. We had no idea what it was but after passing it often when walking on Charles Bridge we decided to go in. We had not heard of Karel Zeman before but have since found his work on YouTube. The story of his work, techniques and development was wonderful. Definitely a true art form. Even as two adults visiting it was fun to be in a movie and "fly a horse". Definitely worth a visit to get to know about his amazing work.

A relatively rarely visited museum of Karel Zeman, a Czech director whose importance to the world cinematography can hardly be overestimated. Together with Pavel Klushantsev, he was the creator of extremely complex and artistically sophisticated special effects, created without the use of computer graphics and artificial intelligence. Imagination and artistry without limits! And a great humanistic message! In my opinion one of the few must-see museums in Prague. In the shop you can buy a DVD/BR with all of Karel Zeman's films.

One of my favorite museums in Prague! This is a nice museum that both kids and adults would enjoy. The exhibits are interactive and the explanations provide a lot of context. Even though I've never seen a Karel Zeman film before, the museum did a great job building up the context. The exhibits show the process that Zeman uses to create his film effects and also shows the literary significance of his work. I'd highly recommend going here!

We really enjoyed this quirky museum about a great Czech movie director who was a pioneer for special effects. There are some really fun interactive opportunities. A good place to spend an hour before going for dinner, as it is open until 7pm.
