Die kleine Vorgängerkirche aus dem Jahre 1434 wurde durch Blitzeinschläge (1665 und 1713) zunehmend baufällig. Baubeginn für die neue barocke Saalkirche war 1728, Kirchweihung 1736. Sie erhielt den Namen „Elisabethkirche –Kirche zur heiligen Ruhe Gottes“. Die Orgel stammt aus der Werkstadt Adam Gottfried Oehme (1788) der leider verarmt 1789 in Freiberg starb.
Die Kirche stellt sich in einen guten sanierten Zustand dar.
