the niu Mood

I booked the hipster studio for one night just to try it, as I'm planning a longer stay here, and I must say that all the negative reviews I read here really did not apply to the studio I spent the night on the first floor. Exactly as in the hotel and Google photos, nice and cozy studio with excellent WiFi and soundproofing. My experience is extremely positive, as in all other the niu hotels I've stayed so far and I can't wait to book a longer stay here! Thanks to the night personal who booked my 45 minutes complimentary sauna I truly enjoyed and for their kind service. I also parked for free near the hotel and just had to place a parking meter in my car for the next morning. For me all worked out perfectly.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Overall impression is that it’s better value than the AirBNB that I stayed at a year ago near the train station.

Modern, clean, and fresh. Large shower for a tall guy like myself. Excellent water pressure and enough hot water.

Close to the train station but not so close that you walk out and it’s a party immediately.

Across the street is a fitness gym with a day rate of 20€ or a two-week card at 52€.

Breakfast buffet is good and has enough options to satisfy. Not sure what someone with gluten free and dairy free diet would say.

Everything was great: the room, the service, the cleanliness, the breakfast. Great location close to the train station and buses. Very quiet surroundings, although near the trains, it is a very quiet and a pleasant area.

For the price it's exactly what one would want. The rooms are not large, but are very clean and meet all needs. Staff were kind to us as Americans new to Germany with beginner level language experience. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. Walkable to train and buses.

Nice, quite modern rooms, with chairs and table, nice fridge, good TV, and microwave. But there was only 2 glasses in the bathroom , and no other plates, bowls, cups or cutlery.

The Niu Mood is amazing. Such great value for what you pay. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bed and bathroom comfy, and the blonde lady at the front desk was so kind. We got our free drink!!! Great location too.

Apart from the strange man who accused me and my boyfriend of spilling jam at breakfast (which we did not, I swear lol), this was a near perfect experience and I didn’t want to take away a star because of one employee (who others on here seem to have had similar experiences with).

The hotel is within a reasonably short walking distance to Mainz Hauptbahnhof. I had to get a few essentials one evening, walked into the shops on Bahnhofplatz, and walked back to the hotel before anyone knew I was gone. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The double bed had two separate mattresses so neither of us woke the other. The breakfast area is a little busy but finding a table was easy. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of tea as well as some coffee machines. The food included sausages, eggs boiled and scrambled, croissants and brötchen. The selection of yoghurts was my favourite: I went for the thick, natural yoghurt with fruit and added cherry yoghurt to the mix. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking was available which was very useful.

Nice hotel, in particular when you consider the price. Rooms were excellent, WiFi was fast, staff not so much. Thus, please allocate some time for check-in and check-out.

A good place to stay. Modern, clean and stylish, with a super friendly English and German-speaking staff. The rooms are not particularly big but they are really comfortable.

Great no frills hotel. Good location. Rooms are comfortable with everything you need. Staff is friendly and available for whatever you need. Definitely would stay here again!!

Rooms are clean and tidy… Service was ok… but my partner key did not work on the last day and they refused to reprogram the key even though this happen at around 10.00am check out at 12.00… They did offer to keep opening the door… option I suppose…Located around 10-15mins from main train station … Take the 60 bus to get close to the river and main square .. I didn’t think much of the breakfast had better …
